Hmm... another difficult to review story... at times it felt like Mark Twain, but of course, it isn't the least comical.

i now actively have to stop myself from saying “i would prefer not to” to everything asked of me. this book stunned me into deep thought, into a deeper curiosity to know more about Bartleby and to just deeply think about this book for days because in some aspects, he perfectly embodies the cycle of life and the importance of our humanity/humaneness during this cycle. this is not a book i would have ordinarily picked up nor even expected to be a 5-star read but i’m glad to say this one’s going to be staying with me for a while.
