In Harmony is not you average love story. It is a tale of two people both trying to cope with their current struggles. Isaac just wants to make a name for himself and Willow just wants to be a normal girl who isn't confronted with her traumatic past every time she closes her eyes! They both are using Hamlet as an outlet for their feelings and find a way to what the other needs. In Harmony is an amazing read and will have you rooting for Isaac and Willow and have you looking for your "until."

“His tears were rain in the stormy gray-green of his eyes. A tempest of pain and regret and three years lost. But beneath that, love. The love was there first.”

You feel that? Yeah, that’s an Emma Scott slow burn. That’s the good stuff. THAT’S the stuff I love to read. The type of stuff that sucks the breath straight out of you and then flings it back into you when you’re not even expecting it. That’s this book.

I’m not typically a person who feels a lot of feelings when I’m reading but with In Harmony I had so many butterflies! They fluttered in my stomach and my chest throughout the WHOLE book. I worried I wouldn’t like it because of the whole theatre and Shakespeare elements but they really freakin WORKED. That took me by a huge surprise. Especially that I devoured it!

AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT ANGIE? One of my most favorite things about a good book is the secondary characters. I love when an author makes a story revolve around not just one or two people but the people that surround them and influence and hold their hand and Emma slayed it. And don’t even get me started on Martin. We all need to be wishing we had some Martin in our lives.

“Someday, Willow, you might find yourself cast into darkness too. I hope that day never comes. If it does, it will be scary at first. But you will see your own brilliance. Your own strength. And you will shine.”

Besides completely stealing my breath- Emma did a fantastic job at sucking me into her story. The writing, the settings, and the feelings felt all too real for me and isn’t that what we all hope for as readers?

I loved it. In Harmony was a beautiful story filled with just enough angst and feels to keep me turning pages. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, not even for a second.

10 "Never Doubt" Stars!!!!

I'm laying on the floor not knowing how to stop the uncontrollable tears from falling. I've been crying for the last 45 minutes not wanting to do anything, but stay rooted in this position. I don't want to burst the bubble that In Harmony left me in. I don't want to say goodbye to Isaac and Willow. I'm trying my best to collect my thoughts, but I can't seem to form coherent sentences. I want to do this review justice, but I'm afraid that no amount of words I put together can come close to the masterpiece that Emma wrote.
This book and this story is above and beyond anything that Emma has written. And that's saying a lot because everything that Emma writes is exceptional. But this book, this book is her best to date.

In Harmony was a story about healing and hope. It's about two strong-willed characters that despite the darkness that surrounds them fight like hell to reach that light they both deserve. And the Shakespeare element in this book was superb. Emma is a genius. Incorporating Shakespeare's Hamlet was downright masterful. I loved it! Absolutely loved everything about it! Harmonious. Simply harmonious.

Willow Holloway, what a beautiful heroine. My heart was ripped right open at her story. I ached for her. I cried for her. I felt it. I felt every one of her emotions. I was there, right there living through her. Having to move to Indiana because of her dad's job is exactly what Willow needs, a fresh start. Needing an outlet to convey what she's feeling she auditions for a part in Hamlet at the local theatre. And Willow finds her sanctuary. She finds the one place where she can speak other people's words, but in doing so she expresses everything she's afraid to say through Ophelia.

Isaac Pearce, there aren't enough words. Not enough words that'll do you justice. Isaac comes from a broken home. A father that spends more time with his head in bottle than being a person Isaac can actually count on. And even though his dad is a POS, Isaac helps pay the bills while going to school. But the one thing that Isaac excels at is acting. He is the best of the best. The emotion he puts in all the characters he plays leaves people awestruck. Isaac's dream is leaving Indiana and making his dream of becoming an actor a reality. But will one girl change those plans, or will Isaac leave the life he knew behind for good?

Willow and Isaac were cosmic. Isaac helped Willow see the light. He was gentle and kind. He brought sunshine to Willow's life. And you can say the same about Willow bringing that same light to Isaac's life. They needed each other so much. They were meant to meet in that classroom and have their lives changed forever. Willow and Isaac were everything good. They were two brave characters that claimed my soul and will always live securely in my heart.

Emma, there aren't enough words. Thank you. Thank you for writing this book. Thank you for Willow and her bravery. Thank you for Isaac and his heart of gold. Thank you for Angie. Everyone needs and Angie in their life. In Harmony is a book that will stay with me forever. One of the BEST books I've read and an absolute top FAVORITE.

I know I recommend a lot of books, but In Harmony is a MUST read and everyone NEEDS to read this book!

"Rip your heart out and throw it to the audience. What if they hate what you’re trying to say? What if they don’t understand it? Or worse, what if they don’t care? The validation of your entire life is tied up in your art. So yeah, that’s pretty fucking dangerous. And scary.”

Not even sure what to say about this beautiful story--it sucked me in right from the beginning. The kind of story that compelled me to give up anything I needed to do, just so I could stay in the little world and find out how it ended. Emma Scott is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Like all of her other books, this one also revolves around artists. This time actors. The way that she threaded the story of Hamlet into the story she was telling about Willow was incredibly creative and ingenious.

This story is very timely with the #metoo movement, and she handled the subject matter with so much compassion and wisdom. I can't say enough about this book. I absolutely loved it.
