Emma Scott never fails to write an amazing story. In Harmony was fantastic. Life imitates art in the story of Willow and Isaac, two people from entirely different worlds, who are perfect for one another, and just what the other needs. Brought together to perform the main roles of one of Shakespeare’s famous plays – Hamlet.
Willow has been through the unspeakable, and Isaac has had his fair share of hardship as well. I was hooked by this one instantly, and I fell in love with both characters. I also loved Angie and her Mum, and Marty and Brenda. There’s so much love in this story, even surrounded by so much harshness and hate.
Willow and Isaac both have to come terms with their lives and what has happened to them, and to move forward. Watching them trying to work things out, and doing it together when they finally let it, is awesome.
Their acting lends a huge role to this story, and I enjoyed how it was incorporated and really woven together in the story to show life and art, tangled together and totally seperate at the same time.
Also highlighted in this story is the all to real fact of social structures and opinions. Who’s better than who? Who’s deemed to be from the “wrong side of the tracks”? Everything in this story is so well, and it unfolds perfectly. There’s emotion everywhere, but surrounded by it all is the strength of the characters.
I loved the way things unfolded, and how the story ultimately ends. Highly recommend, as always with Emma Scott. She never lets us down.

When I rate and review a book one of things I look at is how long it took me to finish the book. I started this book on a Sunday and finished it on a Thursday. That's a super long time to read a book in my life. I can read 4-5 books a week, even when I'm working. That's one of the reasons this was a 3 STAR read for me.
The book was actually good just a wee bit boring for me. I've read plenty of slow burn books but this one took the cake for me. The storyline, the characters, the imagery was pretty, pretty good, but the that spark missing for me.
I loved Willow, our heroine. She was just a sweetheart. I also loved Isaac, our hero. His history and story made me want to jump in the book and give him loads and loads of kisses and cuddles. They were super cute together. They just weren't exciting. They were just. . .there. I kept wishing something would happen. Nothing really happened for me until I was close to the end of the book and by then, I was over it.
There were a number of important social topics that were tackled and done beautifully. I've always loved that about Emma Scott's writing. She focuses on character development through life as well as romance.

Il romanzo è ambientato principalmente nell’ultimo anno di liceo di Willow e Isaac, tant’è che inizia come young adult per poi terminare in new adult.
Non sapevo nulla di quella ragazza, ma aggiunsi ai regali di compleanno di Marty che avevo già in tasca anche il fatto che Willow Holloway avesse assistito allo spettacolo di stasera. E per la prima volta nella mia vita, mi sentii ricco.
Willow ha diciassette anni e si è appena trasferita nella piccola città di Harmony, dopo che suo padre è stato trasferito a causa del suo lavoro.
Se prima nella vecchia città non aveva più amici, una volta in Harmony, crea subito un legame con Angie, la quale la prende subito sotto la sua ala protettiva.
Una sera, uscendo con Angie e i suoi amici, si recano nel piccolo teatro della città per vedere Edipo Re ed è lì che incontra Isaac Pearce.
La recitazione, per Isaac Pearce, è il suo biglietto di sola andata per lasciarsi Harmony alle spalle.
Ovviamente tutti dicono a Willow di tenersi alla larga da Isaac, ma sì sa, al cuore non si comanda.
Willow era qui per la stessa ragione per cui mi ci trovavo io: trovare un po’ di sollievo.
Sarà proprio grazie ad Isaac che Willow inizierà a ritrovare se stessa e, armata di forza e coraggio, farà un’audizione per la parte di Ofelia nella prossima rappresentazione Shakespeariana.
Sul palco e anche fuori, Willow e Isaac instaurano un rapporto che li aiuterà a superare il loro passato.
O almeno ci provano.

La storia di Isaac e Willow ha dell’incredibile e ha dell’unico. A primo impatto possono sembrare due persone totalmente opposte, ma in realtà, conoscendoli meglio, si nota quanto siano simili l’un l’altro.
Entrambi hanno un passato ingombrante, ma insieme sono pronti per riscrivere assieme il loro futuro. Ad Harmony.
Emotivamente parlando, questo romanzo è stato molto intenso, potente e straziante.
Non dubitare mai del mio amore è uno di quei libri che ha molto da offrire al lettore, un grido d’aiuto per tutte le ragazze indifese, una coperta di linus per tutte le persone emotivamente instabile e che vedono come unica possibilità nel loro futuro una via di fuga.
Per non parlare dell’eccellente scrittura di Emma Scott, non riuscivo più a staccarmi dal libro.
Dubita che di fuoco sian le stelle, e che il sole si muova, dubita che anche il vero sia bugiardo, ma del mio amor non dubitare.

L'ho letto in pochissimo tempo, ho fangirlato tantissimo.
L'aspetto del bad boy è presente ma non troppo, cioè non annoia.
Probabilmente però i temi trattati dovrebbero essere curati con maggiore attenzione perché spesso mi è sembrato che si sottovalutasse il problema per il solo fine di rendere il tutto più romantico.

i’m so fucking proud of the growth and development of willow. i love her so much and felt all her pain throughout this book. her journey was painful but i’m so happy we saw the growth she had towards the end of the book.

El libro es súper interesante y te mantiene entretenida el tiempo completo. Yo describiría el libro como cute pero al mismo tiempo es un tema difícil de decirle cute, la chica principal a pasado por mucho demasiado y ni su familia se da cuenta y ella no habla con nadie así que nadie sabe su secreto y eso a ella la está comiendo por dentro. Cuánto me hubiera gustado que desde el principio ella hubiese hablado pero como el mismo libro dice no se puede obligar a nadie a decir su verdad, you just have to wait for them to be ready to talk about it. Me encanto tanto su amiga y todo lo que ella la ayudó y la mamá de la amiga la amo igual, ella es todo lo que ella necesita. Y let’s talk about the boy he is so freaking cute, and a bad boy? Un poco de bad boy porque la vida lo a puesto así, mi pobre bebé a pasado también por tanto que solo me daban ganas de abrazarlos a los dos y tratar de quitar todo el dolor. La actuación los unió a los dos y los ayuda a contar su historia de una forma única. El libro es súper bueno y un poco cute bye❤️. Wait se me olvidó decir que su mamá y su papá son una pupusita que quille me dieron los dos, y la mama me molestó tanto dios mío abre los ojos tu hija is hurting ayúdala, no viste que ella cambio? Pues algo está mal haz algo!
