im still reeling with that ending it was so epic. i really love Mera and Valentine and the shock factor just went uo i cant wait to read what happens next

DNF @ 66%.
I found that despite desperately trying, I just couldn’t care for either of the main characters. There love story (?) wasn’t believable to me and discovering what Mera was, made absolutely no sense at all to me.

Sorry, it just wasn’t for me.

Rating and review coming soon!

I found this one to be quite interesting and different. It had a paranormal yet almost UF feel to it. I really loved the feel to the story and the angst between these two were delightful. I loved how the hero reacted to the heroine and her "hate" of him. It was quite amusing to see their bantering develop. The plot just builds throughout the story and I had a blast with it. The only downside....it has a CLIFFHANGER ....but very eager to see where this author takes this series.

Hmmm

Kind of a slow start. But I do like the story line. The farther I got into the book the more I liked it.

DID NOT FINISH: 55%

The plot was so slow moving it was painful (I understand it's part of a larger series, but still). Mera's emotions gave me whiplash; she hated Valentine, then she was lusting after him (after insisting she wasn't), then she was angry, then sad. Like, all within a page. I was nearly halfway through the book and we were still talking about why Mera left Logris.
I do believe I was just getting to a point where it's revealed that Mera's memories were changed to make it look like Valentine publicly broke up with her, whereas he is saying they agreed that she would go to London to escape scrutiny over her possibly having fire power.
Valentine, who is supposed to be this big, bad, Vampire heartbreaker, shows up and says about five things before he disappears again. I wanted to like this so much, but there was nothing happening, and we were just spinning around the same conversations.

decent read

An okay start. A couple of surprises I didn’t expect. I think her aunt might have something to do with her plight. Lots of action and a great cliffhanger to lead into book 2.

Decent story over all. I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy it more, but i felt really bored almost half way through. I will finish the series because I'm curious to see how it ends, especially with Valentine and Mera. I really want her to grow and understand what happened to her. There is so much that needs to be unraveled, and maybe that's why I got bored halfway through. So much information with seemingly nothing to back it up. I like Meras character and I really hope she finds a way through this mess that Valentine and her aunt created

Allure of the Vampire King by Bella Klaus is an engaging paranormal romance novel and the first in her Blood Fire Saga series. This book really captured my attention from the beginning and kept me page-turning all the way to the end.
Allure of the Vampire King is about a young woman who has lived her whole life believing that she's a Neutral, someone born without magic, but isn't human. I like that she has managed to create a life for herself as much as possible without running away from magic. Things are a bit confusing at times, because she and others like her have to keep the magical world hidden from humans. It's a bit of a reach for me at times, because it seems like humans would have picked up on something here and there, but...apparently not. Mera, is also struggling with a painful past that she'd rather keep locked away deep inside her heart, but that's about to go out the window when an ex makes an unexpected appearance.
The pace of this book is pretty good. I like the twists and surprises that the author mixes into this book to keep things engaging. It all starts with a strange presence following Mera in the beginning and quickly morphs to more with the appearance of a strange bracelet that sinks into her skin after attaching itself to her. I practically devoured this book to find out what was going to happen next.
My only issue with this book...Mera and all of her unnecessary screeching and screaming with Valentine shows up. I mean...was it really necessary? I found it over the top and she goes from being the "shy, quiet" type to really seeming like a crazy female who needs help...as in...therapy. I mean...she literally has a dude stalking her (okay, he's a persistent idiot) but she never screeches at him. When she's talking to Valentine she apparently thinks that devolving to a shrieking idiot is going to get her answers to her questions...sorry, but that's not how things work. I honestly figured something was up when he just saunters in and acts like everything is normal, but then she devolves to a snapping crocodile. I didn't like how rude she was, and felt that if she had just shut her mouth she might have gotten an explanation and a bit of a quicker resolution to things.
This book really is well written and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy a good paranormal romance with twists and turns then this is a good book to pick up.
