I would give this one 2 1/2 stars. I just wasn't feeling it. I loved the idea of it and I love second chance romances. I also loved the other books I've read by Heidi. But I just didn't connect with the characters. Any of them. I didn't feel the connection Jojo had with Liam. I didn't feel the connection between all the old friends. I really didn't feel any connection with Jojo and Nick. I don't know...everything was there that I would normally love in a book, but I just didn't connect with any of the characters or the story.
I have to say I love/hate this book! The story line is great but I absolutely hated the way Josie reacted from the beginning. Liam clearly deserved more hate from her part and a LOT more suffering. But in the end it was perfect. Really, really enjoyed it

Honestly.. justice for Nick. He got completely screwed over. 6 years… even the kid was just like bye. I don’t buy that. Did not like this at all. Liam and Josie were eh..

This book was a beautiful love story of second chances and coming clean with the one you always knew you were meant for.
He walked away breaking her heart and was sheltered from finding out about his son thanks to awful management.
Once he did he made up for it 20 fold and let his feelings be known to Josie so she could make her decision as how to proceed with their relationship and the one she was in when he returned to town.
This book starts off HEAVY as it starts with the death of a character and the town grieving and dealing with the funeral. It took me a few days to work through that since it touches so close to home but once I did I did not want to stop reading.
I’m very glad I pushed through. ❤️❤️
