This started strong but found myself really not enjoying it as it continued. Reading it gave me the impression that the author finished writing the main story, decided it was too short, and then went back to randomly add filler; these sections just didn’t fit with the overall story and left me struggling to follow what was going on or get a feel for the characters.

Taking too long to get going and the characters are already annoying me.

Maybe closer to a 2.5? There are so many things I wanted to love about this, and so many elements I liked, I liked the concept, I found the world building interesting, but something just fell flat for me. I think maybe there were just so many characters and I feel like we didn't get to understand any of them fully, so I just felt disconnected. I liked the way it ended, but staying engaged with this one was a struggle for me.

Just could not care about a single character.

Quite enjoyed how astronaut-y it was (you could tell Thompson did his research!) and I was delighted by all of the characters. Wonderful space disaster story combined with a murder-mystery!

Really felt like a mid sci-fi movie with unremarkable characters, an unnecessary and empty het romance added just because, confusing worldbuilding and plot points going in too many directions to be made interesting enough. I wasn't even interested in the murder mystery because it wasn't very mysterious either.
