Maybe the only time King's written believably from a female POV (Carrie too, but I know Tabitha King had a ton of influence on that one). Dolores and Vera's relationship, in all its points and curves, was especially well rendered.

Very interesting from beginning to end. The story just kept taking different turns and always left me guessing and surprised.

This was a fantastic book I've had the pleasure of reading twice. A fantastic job from SK bringing these likeable characters to life, even if it is told through the lens of one character. It makes you feel upset, hurt, touched, giddy, calm, and (the best part, considering SK books) satisfied with the ending. This is a fantastic book filled with details that bring you into the story, without it feeling heavy or bloated. Just a great book to give you all the feels. You will be rooting for Dolores and those pages will just fly by. This is gripping and a serious page turner. This is not your standard SK book, so don't expect all the spooks you are used to. I give this book a SOLID 4.5/5. That's not to say this is lacking, but it is a simple book with a straight forward story... not a perfect 5/5, but still fantastic.
I wasn’t a fan of the format where it’s just Dolores talking with no conversation. It also seemed like for 60 pages she was talking about the same thing over and over.

A powerful story of a woman’s anger. Obsessed! The accent written was a bit difficult for me but it did add to the story and made me feel more connected with Dolores just trying to emulate her accent in my head. It is a difficult book to find a stopping place with since it reads like just one long stream of consciousness but still really enjoyed it!!
