I give 5 stars rarely, but this one absolutely deserves it. Breathtaking.
Good for her. Best King so far. Couldn’t stop listening, the audiobook is SUPERIOR
3 for the overall story, 4 for the audiobook narration. What a great narrator. The story was interesting, but more of a character study and got a little blah midway through. But I really liked the narration - it really felt like she was talking to me.

The psychological thriller "Dolores Claiborne" reads as a long monologue from the main character, Dolores. This is her statement to the police during their investigation on whether or not Dolores has just killed her employer.
Dolores is a wonderfully well written and realistic character. She is interesting, complex and very sympathetic. Her family, particularly her daughter and husband, are equally interesting and realistic as characters. If you’re anything like me you’ll find it hard to put the book down, especially since it reads as one long chapter, and if you’re a fast reader you’ll most likely find yourself finishing the novel before you allow yourself to go to sleep.
If you like psychological thrillers, or are a Stephen King fan like me, I absolutely recommend it.

While this book is not the worst book i've ever read by any means, I felt that shortening it by 100 pages or so, would have portrayed the same points. It seemed a lot of sections were really drawn out with every little nitty gritty detail, that you were waiting for the book to "get to the point". If you are impatient like me, it was just hard to get through! I do recommend listening to this on audio book though as the narrator for the story is pretty fantastic. All in all, not a terrible book by any means, just not one I will reread or highly recommend.
