Worth a read. Especially if you want to know more perspectives.

This anthology is a wonderful, life affirming, layered introduction to disabled realities and disability justice. it covers disability in an expansive and holistic way, with lots of different types of pieces by disabled writers, organizers, artists, etc. Some of my favorite essays are:
- Unspeakable Conversations
- I’m Tired of Chasing a Cure
- So. Not. Broken.
- Six Ways of Looking at Crip Time

The challenge I had with this anthology is that there are so many essays and they’re almost all very short, so I sometimes had a hard time sinking into them individually and was left yearning for more depth.

Freakin fantastic. Not much I can say that hasn’t been said, but this book really highlights the beauty, strength, and creativity found within the disabled community. I loved reading each and every essay, which is rare for me with compilations, but Alice Wong has done an excellent job of editing this collection to where every voice shines. Should absolutely be required reading.

Thank you to NetGalley & Vintage for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!

A strong collection of essays about various disability issues. With a book of this length, obviously not all disabilities will be covered, but there is a wide range of experiences here. Also, the contributions are widely diverse. As to be expected from a book edited by Alice Wong, we get more than just the white perspective here. Eye-opening, entertaining, and educational.
