I give Devolution around 4 out of five suspicious footprints 👣 👣

An epistolary novel primarily told by recounts through one person's journal with brief cutaway interviews with others about the "Greenloop Massacre", it's certainly the best Bigfoot horror-adjacent story that I've seen, but not perfect. The first half of the book is *slow*, and I very nearly gave up on it; however, once it gets going, it rarely lets up, and has one hell of an explosive climax and chin-scratching finale.

Would be very good if you're hankering for some survivalist themes in your next reads. It certainly made me want to go to a camping goods store for some "just in case" supplies.

Of note, I read the physical book, but saw that much like World War Z, the audiobook has a star-studded cast of readers including Judy Greer and Nathan Fillion, and might be more enjoyable, but can't comment on it.
