The book was an interesting read, but it's not something I would read again. It spent way too long describing nature. I was starting to get bored (listening to this at 2.6x speed) until the first encounter which took way too long. Nature is great and all, but multiple chapters having a character describe it was too much. I also think the "eruption" was kind of unnecessary. It didn't add anything to the story beyond being an excuse to have the town be left alone for a week.

Devolution was a good, fast-paced read—and definitely a nice thirst-quencher for Bigfoot fans out there. The format, blending firsthand accounts with interviews and reports, gave it an authentic survival-thriller vibe that kept things moving.

The story was fun and tense in places, though at times I wished for a bit more depth in the characters and buildup to some of the more intense moments. Still, it was a unique take on the Bigfoot mythos, and I enjoyed the blend of realism and horror.

If you’re into survival thrillers or cryptid stories, this one is worth a look—just go in for the ride and the fun.

I have to admit, I love "found journal after some event" type books. I had no idea that was my catnip, but here we are. See my reviews for When the Amish Fell and World War Z and the Last American Vampire and who knows how many others. And this one has Sasquatches attacking a remote town after a natural disaster shoved it off the grid.

I thought it was great. I wish we could have had even more Squatch, but it was very good. Now, to go eat some Jack Links beef jerky.

This was a good quick read to kick off october with. I do wish it was a bit longer, some of the relationships/events felt a bit rushed, and I think it could have benefitted from establishing the Green Loop community a bit more.

For anyone who likes audiobooks, I would recommend this one. A cast of characters including Judy Greer, Nathan Fillion, and Jeff Daniels.
