Pretty damn awesome. Worthy of being shelved next to WWZ. I hope they don’t botch the inevitable movie.

If you're a horror reader like me, you have to read this. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but around chapter 5 I couldn't put it down. It's all I could think about. It was terrifying, heart wrenching, suspenseful, full of love and gore and horror. This might be the best book I've ever read.

A page-turner! Heart in my throat for the last half and virtually read it in two sittings. I liked the brief respite of interviews, as it allowed me to catch my figurative breath. The ending, especially the one posited by Frank - was a little far-fetched (on the nose?) but offered some sense of a resolution when I had been expecting none. I went into a Bigfoot rabbit hole a few years ago, so kicked my feet like a happy child reading this.

I read this a few years ago and remember enjoying it a lot.

My reread was fine, but I would say enjoyed it less the second time around. I didn’t remember
the bit of slow burn that it took for more action to happen.

Some people seem to complain how unlikeable the characters were or stereotypically yuppy they were - but I read that as purposeful. That’s why these people wanted to live this lifestyle and why they were invited/chosen to be part of this experiment.

Anyways, it was just fine. I hadn’t come across other interesting plots about sasquatches so while not amazing by any means, still an entertaining read.
