Pretty awesome book. I love that one of the big themes of it is getting off your butt and discovering real life (outside your video games). Nothing wrong with being a nerd, but I hope this book gives some hope/motivation to the more reclusive of the bunch. The only thing that took me out of the reading experience sometimes was the some of the dialogue between characters in certain parts. It sort of made me hate the relationship between the protagonist and Aech (his best friend) for awhile. Awkward conversations aside, the book is great.

Love, love, love it. The contemporary geek references mixed in with an obsession of 80s pop culture and gaming make for an easy read. It's a good introspective look at the future of gaming and how it could affect our society. I'm still slightly freaked by the hairless bodies (of some). It mentions a Whedonverse - what's not to love. And there is a corporate, money hungry evil empire to despise and impose a little Big Brother action. If you are a geek you will love this book.

The beginning didnt catch me. I tried but the too detailed explanation killed the vibe.

Not Harry Potter but as much fun but different. Great characters and good use of good vs evil if that even fits any more. I'm looking forward to the movie.

Lots of exposition, but this is fast, fun, and a lot like YA books. Despite some confusion about the universe, I enjoyed it.
