bye i was so excited to read this and it gave nothing
i’m sorry but i CANNOT with the fact that vhalla had like 3 different guys in love with her (because she’s so perfect and special and amazing and beautiful and did i mention special because she’s the first in like a century to have wind powers for no reason at all?) AND ALL THREE OF THEM HAD THE PERSONALITIES OF A DOORKNOB. we got allegedly edgy, broody prince who shoves vhalla off a roof in 20 pages (i wish the book ended there.), some dude named baldair (BALDAIR??? BALD. AIR. BALLHAIR. HELP??), and some annoying ass dude who CAN NOT take a hint of disinterest and literally SPRINTS away when he learns our girl has powers

If you are looking for a fantasy/adventure that will suck you in until the VERY end...along with an ending that has you immediately wanting to start the next book, then this is the series for you!!!!! This first book has it all!!!! A lovable and innocent MC that you are always rooting for, a slow burn romance with a complicated prince, the discover and acceptance of self, easy to follow and fun world building, fantasy and adventure... whew, it's all there!!!! 5 SOLID STARS for the Air Awakens!!!!

This was alright. I didn’t like the almost love triangle they had going. I thought Vhalla was a little whiny. I liked the slow burn.
Rating and review of entire series: FAVORITE FANTASY SERIES!! these five books took me on an amazing journey through war, love, and sacrifice. Vhalla is a great female heroine. I loved reading her character development! She was just a simple sorcerer until her powers awaken and she is thrown into a war. She’s grows into her power and gains strength through her experiences, something natural. We meet so many amazing and memorable characters and their deaths ended my soul. She was manipulated by the crown until she gained her own courage and support to go against them. The romance was fun to read but the war was more so entertaining. Ending was perfect. There are just no faults.

This book was comped to Throne of Glass and Avatar The Last Airbender, and that is SO right on! I'd say if you loved one or both of those comps you should definitely give this book a read.

Thoughts-
I have been meaning to pick up this book for the longest time, since the beginning of 2020. I never got around to it until recently. I enjoy the premise of this book alot, I enjoyed the world, the magical powers, AND THE ROMANCEEEEE. Considering how many bookd their are I just know i am going to sed a couple of tears. I thought this was a solid first installment, it kept me engaged and it was definitely a page turner. I felt like something important happend every chapter and the stakes just kept getting higher and higher. I thought the world in general is unique and easy to follow along. For this to be considered YA I think is a far stretch to me this reads new adult since it does deal with mature topics. I liked Yarl’s character and I like the path she is headed in right now. I loev the romance between the two main characters I thought it was so sweet and so diffferent from what i’ve read. I felt he knew how to communicatr and one thing I love is a protective MMC and he is JUST THAT!!! Overall I thought it was solid and im intrigued enough to continue the series !!
