Still very disappointing.

Ok, so I liked Falling Kingdoms so much more. I don't know if it was because I'm not in the mood for high fantasy or if Rebel Springs was kind of slow. Yet the ending was interesting. I probably read the next book, as the ending did left me wondering, but it could've been better. As in my review of Falling Kingdoms the writing is not wonderful, i actually found it a bit tedious and the character development felt short for me. I did enjoy Rebel Springs- specially the ending- but it was a little bit cliche and overall predictable.

*** SPOILER (maybe, not a big one)***
EVERYONE FUCKING LOVES CLEO!!

It wasn't perfect but it definitely was better than the first book. Can't wait to read Gathering Darkness
adventurous emotional tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: N/A
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

I enjoyed this second book although because it had been such a long time since I had read the first book it took me a few chapters to remember who everyone was and what exactly had happened in the first book.

So I really saw what everyone was saying when they say this is very game of thrones-esk. So many people died in this book that I had gotten attached too...especially poor Brion. He was a favorite for sure and just such a good heart filled loyal character and I was very upset to see him get killed. And Mira as well although she was not a main character I just think she was a good and loyal friend to Cleo and honestly to see her circle of people she can trust and those she lives just one by one getting killed makes my heart sad for her. She has a strength that I cannot imagine.

That being said I AM SO HAPPY THAT MAGNUS FINALLY KILLED ARON. Needless to say I could not stand him.

I also am very excited to see how Cleo and lucia's friendship goes. And I really liked that that is where the book left off because it definitely left me wanting to pick up the next book right away!
