I have been in a daze all day after finishing this book. The ugly cry faces have been documented and all I can do is think about this book. It crushed me. Not just in the way I was expecting either. I knew vaguely what the book was about and I knew I had to read it. Then, in true Tarryn fashion, she turned the whole thing upside down and caused my heart even more pain.
The book is about divorce. It is about human nature and dealing with the aftermath of something so utterly painful that no one knows how they will react until they are put in that situation. I can say “this is what I would do if this happened to me” all I want, but at the end of the day, no one knows. When you are faced with divorce and longing for the one you love, you don’t know what you would do.
I related to Billie on such a level that it was a hard read. Not so much the revenge part, but the reaction she had to her husband cheating. Running. It’s what I’m good at. Blocking it out until it all comes crashing down. Seeing Billie get her closure, reading the words that Woods said to her, made me see my own marriage from a perspective I have never seen before. While I will never get my closure like Billie, it comforts me to know that I am not alone. Knowing Tarryn uses her own experiences to write these books makes me feel like it’s ok to have the feelings I have, there are others just like me.
I loved Satcher, but at times I wanted to kick him and Billie both. If there is anything I can learn from this book, and take back into any relationship I have from here on out, it is COMMUNICATION! Tell people what you want and need from them. Don’t expect them to just know.
I recommend this book to anyone who has been through a divorce or had any issues in any relationship ever.. so everyone needs to read it, honestly. All the stars. I’ll never be over it.

This is my first Tarryn Fisher read and I am impressed. This was such a unique and interesting story. I was invested from the beginning.
Listen Linda. I googled “books similar to The Last Mrs. Parrish” and this was one recommended. After reading the synopsis, I was like “ok, I can get down with some revenge with a possible romance” but in the end this was just a romance book.
Omg! I love her books! Very entertaining and well written. This is the third book of hers that I’ve read, and I’ve loved all of them!
Well, it was entertaining. But there was just too much drama— by the end I hated all the characters.
The top review hard me laughing super hard. The story deserves that review.
