Another great read by Tarryn. I wasn't expecting to like this book. I thought there would be something where I didn't agree with how it was written. Maybe I was just waiting for the bomb to drop? The characters in this book are likable and you want to know how their stories end. The ending doesn't leave you hanging, but you are still left wanting more...signs of a great book to me.
While this book wasn't terrible, it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting a story of revenge but instead it was a story of letting go and moving forward which is ..... nice. This story is about Billie (sometimes Wendy) and how she is getting though/over being hurt by her ex-husband.
**Update: So after gaining some insight into these characters and why they did certain things or acted certain ways straight from Tarryn, I'm not so mad anymore. I would even consider bumping my rating up to 4 stars. I should know by now that nothing Tarryn writes is without thought and explicit reasoning. I know she's never going to give us cliche-filled fluff. She's going to give us real life and flawed characters that make us uncomfortable because we can often see so much of ourselves in them. She's going to have her characters make poor decisions, leaving us wanting to rage-quit, but really she does these things to make us think deeper about what we're reading and make us question why. If you go into this book trusting the amazingness that is Tarryn Fisher's mind and understanding that everything that happens isn't so surface-level, I think you'll enjoy it.
I have never been so conflicted over a book. It's as if Tarryn Fisher decided to take every awful and cliche romance trope and throw them all into a book. We have cheating, a love triangle (square?), a surprise pregnancy, a jealous/catty girlfriend, someone gets hit by a car. Everything I dislike about romance novels is a part of this freaking book.
I can't bear to give Tarryn less than 3 stars. This did pull me out of the reading slump I have been in lately so she gets points for that but overall it was a disappointing read when usually I love Tarryn's books so much.

Tarryn Fisher is forever one of my fave authors/people to follow on social media. This book is a whirlwind of emotions. The main character Billie is spiteful and wants to get revenge on those that turned her life upside down. But she still has unresolved feelings, her heart is easily swayed and she is weak. I wish that the last few chapters were different. It felt rushed and honestly pissed me off with the route Tarryn chose to take the story (but saved by the last few pages).
DNF 35% the heroine is just annoying. Extremely childish. Can't see the guy who's in love with her in front of her face because she's too busy plotting out revenge on her cheater of an ex husband and his new fiance. It's been 2 years move on. Why waste your precious time focused on somebody else. And the trying to change her name at damn near 30 is just ridiculous.
"They say that love is a battlefield, but I wasn’t a warrior. I was a soft romantic; my armor was a firm ass and a full face of makeup. Silly armor for a silly girl. The war for love is fought by saying: You’re the one I want, you’re the one I need, you’re the one I’ll fight to keep. Neither of us fought."
This book is messed up. I definitely loved it!
Maybe one downfall of this book would be the second part of it. It kind of became a little confusing. One, because I think one of the chapters has been switched. If I am not mistaken, Chapter 30 and 31 should have been switched. That messed me up big time. I thought it was a fcking twist but ended up as a mistake in the publication lol. Second, Billie and Satcher are just frustrating af. Especially Billie. The wrong chapters were confusing as hell but not as confusing as Billie was. I just want to slap her sometimes but not as much as I want to punch Woods in his pretty face. Satch is swoon worthy but he does have some flaws too. Like, why didn't he pursue Billie enough and just went back to Julia? Like seriously? The guy needs to step up!
All those push and pull between Billie and Satcher gave me mini heartbreaks. I love Satcher and I just want him to be happy, and Billie had to break his heart over and over and over again. It just hurts!!!
I'm just glad that everything turned out pretty good at the end and kudos to Tarryn, you still left me confused as hell. I LOVE YOU!!!

Okay this book was your predictable romance novel. The reason I gave it a 4/5 instead of 3/5 (I don’t care for romances) is because of how funny the quotes were in this book. The conversations and sarcasm made this book great!
I devoured this book. But it definitely has issues. The first half feels like a totally different book than the second half. The main character, Billie, starts off so strong and you feel like it’s headed in a great direction. Then she shows how screwed up she really is. Repeatedly. When we are at the point where she takes back the douchebag I just about lost it. But I had faith that this book couldn’t end that way. So I trudged on and at least it didn’t completely disappoint. Tarryn Fisher can write. And she can write screwed up people so well she’ll make you want to throw your kindle.
Tarryn Fisher has a way with writing.
She knows her characters are flawed and she's not afraid to showcase that.
Billie is her own worst enemy at times. She goes back to where it all started and where it also went so wrong. She intends to get revenge back on her ex, Woods, by ending his currently relationship with the woman he cheated on her with. Billie wants them to taste their own medicine but in the process she never thought she'd have to deal with Satcher.
Satcher knew Billie before her relationship with Woods ended and nothings changed now she's returned. He knows exactly what she's up to and he's happy to help if it means he gets to spend the time he wants with her in a more private setting. Except where Satcher wants more with Billie, Billie too focused on revenge and sees any other relationship growth as a set back off the path she's on.
Billie has to learn some emotional lessons before she realises how wrong she's been.
