What did I just read...?! Very surface level, enjoyable easy read with zero depth to the characters. I just didn’t really care what happened to anyone...
Short, sweet, rather enjoyable considering I don’t usually like his books.

I loved this. The story moves along at a quick pace. Elevation is a novella and so there is not nearly as much development of character and plot intricacies and you would find in a longer King story but Elevation doesn't suffer for it. If anything, the short length helps make it the success it is. What we learn of the four main characters is just enough to believably move the story along. Elevation is nothing if not uplifting!
I really liked the idea but I'm not too sure about the execution. It missed the mark for me with those pics that solved homophobia...
I’m glad this is a short book because I just can’t deal with the crap Stephen King comes up with sometimes.
Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan, there’s a good few books of his that are my absolute favourite books ever, but his stories are definitely hit or miss.
The story gets two stars because King knows how to write characters, I connected with them, and there were a couple of pages where I smiled and thought how cute they were.
Other than that, I could have lived without reading this book.
THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE:
The story is about a guy who isn’t visibly losing weight, but every time he weighs himself, he is losing weight, and the weight starts dropping off him quite quickly.
We never find out why he’s losing weight but looks exactly the same. The only thing that really happens is that he feels like he’s losing out on time in his life, so he makes friends with his neighbours. Like I said , cute. But was it really worth my time? No. And King is just sitting there rolling in his money from this book

I listened to this on a short road trip. I really liked the characters and cared about them, but I wanted more explanation and thought the ending was kind of anticlimactic. I think I preferred the bonus story “Lori” actually
