This story contains a very good plotline, and is a quite an interesting story. It kept me gripped throughout the weekend. I do believe that the ending was sad, but we can't always have happy endings. My biggest problem with the book is that we never find out what is causing Scott to lose weight so quickly, and that being left out sort of makes it feel not as fun to read, but I see why Stephen King left it out.
Absolutely loved this book, couldn’t stop reading it every time I picked it up. Unlike most of his other books, king wrote this book to be heartwarming and bittersweet. The simple language contrasted to the complex characters provided an infatuating juxtaposition. The end will break your heart but ultimately just an amazing book with incredible realness despite the fantastical element.

I loved this book. The power to rise above our differences to unite as a community is beautifully told. We don't have to change our values to be loving and decent to others. Elevation has so many layers to the meaning in this novella. This is an enthusiastic four star rating from me. My only negative comment would be that it has been categorized as horror.
I'd this a 3.5 (I always round-up in honor of the author's efforts). I loved the tone, characters, and pace of this work. I wanted a bit more closure though.

Definitely not a horror, this was a cute wee story that was wrapped up very neatly. It did get me out of a reading rut caused by a previous book, so I'm thankful for that. Based on an interesting idea, I just wasn't convinced that the incident that was a key turning point would actually have made that much difference. However, it was easy and entertaining enough. A quick read that doesn't demand anything from you.
Pleasant and kept your attention enough with not getting bogged down in details. The characters aren't anything spectacular but it makes the story almost life life. I enjoyed a feel good story like this with so much going on in the world.
I didn't know what to expect as this was my first book by Stephen King. I will read others though I'm not sure I like the horror genre (I would not classify this as horror). It was a wonderful little read.
I was in a bite of a reading slump with many hefty books on the go so it was nice to have this one.

The writing was compelling and meaningful, as usual, but I just felt as if the suspense element wasn't very palpable here. It's a moving story of connection and community, but uses the "suspense" as a backdrop rather than a focal point. Still entertaining.
