I enjoyed this novella for it’s simple plot and I liked how very slice of life this story felt. Showing the town and people of Castle Rock are pretty ordinary in their habits. I do wish it was a little bit longer, not the length of a full size novel, but maybe another twenty pages because I wanted to know each character a little more. In many ways I did like this more than Gwendy’s Button Box, but I’m struggling on what to make of the ending. On the whole, it’s not bad.

2.5, only because it’s a short story and a little dull (obviously written well though!)

3.5 stars. It felt as if he had an idea and wrote this in an afternoon and didn’t really know how to end it. However, I judge a book based off it it made me feel something, and this story did.

I'd give it 2 1/2 if i had the ability but yea this book was definitely not a great book to be my first Stephen King read.

This book was a recommendation from story graph. I liked it but didn’t love it. For me, the story was a little too simple.
