This is the weakest of Lucy Parker's books. You could happily skip this one and move right through to the rest in the London Celebrity series. Richard was just this side of too condescending, the sex scenes were weirdly undescriptive or just alluded to, unlike her following books, which are thoroughly steamy, and feature male leads that are curmudgeonly but feminist. Great banter throughout, though.

This is basically my ideal contemporary romance. Fake relationship + enemies to lovers trope mania. Moody British heartthrob meets spunky smart ass girl next door type. Parker’s language allows it to be fresh and interesting and sexy without going too far into P+P fanfic or something we’ve read before. I laughed and sighed a lot. Honestly, one of the only ones of recent memory that I think would do well as a movie. Heart eyes all day.

Very enjoyable. While it took a bit to get used to the writing, I did end up really loving this book! The setting (London theatre - which I thought would be cheesy) was actually interesting. The banter was so fun, and I appreciated how eloquent the characters and the narrative were. It was funny without being try-hard. The romance was a very well done slow burn. The heroine isn't virginal/inexperienced and the hero isn't promiscuous or a cheater. (Also I pictured him as Henry Cavill, which was definitely a contributing factor in my immense enjoyment of this book). I wish I’d known, however, that it was a clean romance because man, it left me wanting a really good explicit sex scene. That said, I still very much enjoyed these two rounded characters and their relationship development. While the ending seemed a bit convenient, I didn’t care too much because these two were so adorable and sweet together. Looking forward to reading more from Lucy Parker!

ended up being a pretty good read but the beginning did take me some thin to get into and it was also very british which threw me off for most of the book

I actually laughed out loud while reading this. There wasn't a dull moment and the romance was just so good. With a lot of bickering.

I really, really liked this book. I felt like I was watching a British romcom in my mind. It was funny, witty and the main characters were fully fleshed-out individuals. I just loved them. I wanted to spend more time with them.
Initially, the hero was hard to read. He seemed like a real asshole, but yup, as you might have predicted, he turns out to be lovable asshole. I love how the author didn't make excuses for him in this book, by making it seem like his behavior is always justified; luckily, the heroine was there to put him in his place. Even the supporting characters were fun, and this book had a trove of supporting characters.
Initially, I didn't want to read this book because I wasn't sure I'd be able to buy the fact that two actors would come together and fall in love (personal prejudice - I watch way too much E!) but the author had me convinced. It had entered my list of my favorite books of 2016.
Warning: If you, like me, are a fan of sex-heavy books, this book can act like a palette cleanser. Very romance and character-heavy, with some comedy thrown in. I genuinely laughed out loud at some moments as I read this book. It was a good read.
