Another book by Karla Sorensen that I managed to fall in love with. This series, this family is just so heartwarming I never want it to end.
In this book we follow Lia Ward, one of the twins, as she navigates her life in England while she faces her past and present. When Lia meets Jude McAllister, they form an instant connection. After flirting back and forth , they decide to have a one night stand and probably never see each other again. That is until Lia discovers she is pregnant with his child.
Both Lia and Jude have to face their past and their complicated family dynamics if they want to provide the best for their child. So far we have seen how each Ward sister has been affected by their mother leaving, and being raised by their brother. But with Lia, we see her fears as her pregnancy grows, her doubts and concerns whether she will be a good mother.
Meanwhile, Jude struggles with his soccer career and the disapproval of his parents. The couple endures some ups and downs while trying to manage their long distance relationship, but overall their love story was just so beautiful. Both Jude and Lia worked extra hard to be able to provide for their child and to grow as people. They had so much growth individually in order to be with one another and for their future child.
This was by far my favorite Karla Sorensen book, it had so much romance, so many cute family moments. It was a fun, and cute read filled with some angst but overall very enjoyable! I know I say this so much, but i cannot wait until Sorensen’s next book!

"I think what makes the great great is something inside them. Even when their body betrays them, it's still there."
2.75? i guess.
I have highlighted 38 quotes/passages in this book and I promise you 98% of them are Ward Family moments or Isabel related. The other 2% are ClaireBauer, MollyNoah mentions and crumbs from Isabel's epilogue. That should tell you what I loved most about this.
Honestly, the best thing about this book was the Ward Family to me, which is, one of my favorite bookish family ever! It's what helped me push through, because the romance by itself.. did not do it.
Everyone who knows me knows how much I hate the accidental pregnancy, which is why I didn't read this book as soon as it came out and the only thing I did read was Isabel's part of the epilogue.
One of the reasons I don't like the AP trope is the feeling that the characters would NOT have chosen to be together otherwise. And this book cemented that why. Both Lia and Jude admit at some point that they don't think they would've ended up where they were had it not been for her pregnancy... which did NOT warm me up to them. Especially since I just wasn't feeling the romance or their chemistry to begin with. I just couldn't connect with it and sometimes it just didn't make sense to me, because for about 70% of the book they were just in "denial" over the pregnancy and all they did was have sexual encounters. They never had any deep conversations or really got to know each other beyond everything that is surface level.. yet, somehow, they both fell in love... I just didn't find it believable and it just made me not care about the romance even more.
I honestly did not lie when I said one of my favorite and the best part about this book were the Ward family scenes — like honestly, the way Sorensen writes the family scenes and especially THIS family? MAGICAL. And it always makes me wanna reread The Marriage Effectz
And the other best and favorite thing is the little bit more insight into Isabel's character — who, as most people already know, is my absolute favorite sister.
Which brings me to that epilogue AND MY CRAZY EXCITEMENT OVER HER BOOK THAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE FOCUSED! I JUST CANNOT WAIT FOR JUNE!!!!

Solid book with likeable characters. I related to Lia since she was pursuing a degree in English Literature. I would have sold my soul to go to oxford when i was getting the same degree.
Cute banter and chemistry. The steam was mellow this story. Anotner great addition to this series.

This book is really short and the ending was just super quick and didn’t make a ton of sense to me.
something i really dislike in books is when a character could SO benefit from moving away from their family which is very obviously close-knit and they don’t. we were SO close, she literally did a semester abroad, and they still had their happily ever after 10 mins from the house she grew up.
