The Scones

The Ward sisters are a fun group. Independent and smart. Tough. Women to be admired.

I love it when an American author writes books that take place in England. Being an American living in England, I love reading what experiences the author adds to the story. British scones are amazing. Clotted cream is delicious. Drinking tea? Yes please. Bangers and mash? Uh huh. I remember my first chip butty and it was a revelation. Lia's experiences of driving round the countryside and being amazed at seeing old buildings and greenery match my experiences completely. The old libraries are magical. British swearing is great! Not understanding football is understandable.

More things I love about this book are the underlying themes of family and learning to live despite an uncomfortable past with family. It's hard letting go of the past. Sometimes it takes an unexpected event to catapult a person out of their standard way of thinking and living in order to truly live. This book made me ever so aware that I'm a lot like Lia and Jude in that my past has made me a bit hesitant to live in the present...books are always teaching me.

This was a great book, especially if you like British footballers and English literature. And scones. Especially scones.

Now I wait for Iz's book...

Love it!

I love Jude and Lia! Their story is wonderful. Sometimes things happen you didn’t expect and they turn out to be the best thing for you! I love this series and the Ward family! Can’t wait for more!

4.5 stars

This series! This series is turning out to be everything I didn’t even know I needed. Karla Sorensen delivers on all the things I love the best: the chemistry, the banter, the sweet steady burn that holds my heart in thrall and keeps my greedy little reader heart hungry for more. Floored delivered on all those things – and more! I loved it so much! I absolutely love the entire Ward family, and this book just solidified that love for them. This family just seems to make me all emotional while reading and this story was no different!

I AM IN LOVE WITH LIA AND JUDE!!!! I could not get enough of them. These two were BRILLIANT! They not only had immediate and intense chemistry but they form a deep emotional connection that made them an incredible couple. I was hooked right from the start. I LOVE the surprise pregnancy trope. Add in TONS of chemistry, a great build up, ALL the feels, and a storyline that is so easy, and you have Floored . Just AMAZING from start to finish! This book was everything that I love in romance. There was swoon, passion and emotions that made me want to curl up and cry.

Karla keeps outdoing herself and I’m so in love with her writing. Floored was another fantastic read and I am falling deeper and deeper in love with the Ward family. This story was so heartwarming and touching, and the epilogue absolutely melted my heart. I am enjoying every second I get to spend in their romances and I absolutely cannot wait for Isabel’s story!

Didn't like her in Faked and she thinks the sport played by less than ten countries is the REAL football and not the one that's played by over 200 countries and is THE BIGGEST sport.

I'd punch her in the face and she isn't even real.
