Floored gives me all the warm fuzzy feelings inside. I adore these characters deeply. Amazing growth and well-developed story. Continuing the story from the previous book, [b:Faked|50402531|Faked|Karla Sorensen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1590850749l/50402531._SY75_.jpg|75365064],we follow Claire's twin sister- Lia Ward as she traveled to England for her studies but found a surprise in love and in life. Karla Sorensen did not disappoint amidst the long awaiting installment. It lived up to the hype and I couldn't stress enough how much I love these characters' journey to self-realization and maturity. The romance is well balanced and woven intricately with their own personal development that I was completely immersed in the book and couldn't put it down. It is smart and sexy and heartwarming at the same time.

My lord. I have loved every single one of the books about the Ward girls. This one was no different.
Lia is in the UK studying under her literary idol at Oxford. What could be better? Enter a one night stand with the hottest Brit she’s ever seen. But one giant complication changes everything and Lia and Jude end up having to navigate waters they’ve never experienced before.
So, so good! I can’t wait to read the next in this series!

(ARC Review) Welp, Karla did it again! This was a beautifully written, emotional, steamy, funny, surprise pregnancy story. I love the Ward family and this did not disappoint. I think it might be my favorite of this spin off series!
The surprise pregnancy trope can be iffy for me, but this one is so good! It's not insta-love, everything is perfect because we're having a baby. Instead, they have very real problems to work on before they can begin to contemplate their HEA.
They actually handle their problems fairly maturely, even if it takes some time. The chemistry between the two is electric and I loved that how much they cared about each other. They provided a sense of home for each other when they were both feeling a bit unmoored.
I loved that Lia, who has previously been characterized as the wild child, was actually quite a serious academic but never let her pregnancy de-rail her. Jude is a famous footballer who is a bit damaged due to an unhealthy childhood home, but he still tries to be there to support Lia in any way he can and is determined to give his child a better life than he had.
Their journey isn't a conventional or perfect one, but that's what makes the payoff all the sweeter.

4.5 stars!
I can't remember why I downloaded this from KU, maybe a podcast mentioned it? Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad I did. Lia is in Oxford for a term writing a paper for her Masters and meets Jude in a bar in London on a rainy evening after a day of homesickness and sightseeing. She ha no idea that he's a famous footballer and he has no idea that she comes from an American football family. One thing leads to another and... well, yup. It's an "oops, I'm pregnant!" moment. (That is not a spoiler, that's in the blurb.) Lia and Jude have to work out this new complication while dealing with their feelings for each other and their own demons. Both of these characters are flawed and acknowledge their flaws, while trying to find a future for themselves. Both characters' inability to stay in one place and talk when things got tough was what brought it down a star, but their acknowledgement of their flaws and need to talk about it after brought it back up a half star. I think I'll be going back to read the previous books!

Goodness gracious I loved this so much. Lia was such a delight - smart, kind, fun. And Jude? He was sexy and sweet but not without his flaws. I so appreciated how he finally recognized that in order for him to have a healthy relationship with Lia he needed to do some work on himself. And it was so worth it.
I laughed while reading this and I cried too - I never expected to feel all the feelings with this book. Floored features one of my least favorite tropes and honestly this showed me that given the right author's hands, in this case Karla, any trope can be a good fit for me.
Jude and Lia are now my favorite couple in the Ward family - oof I love them completely!

so disappointed because I was waiting for her book since forever, but this was boring, maybe it’s the one night stand trope or maybe it’s me, but their relationship is so rushed and nothing happens besides her pregnancy.
I loved the family moments tho and I loved the baby, that’s why i’m giving it 3 stars
