Such a cute story ❤️ I appreciate the timeline and that the breakup wasn’t forever. Also loved the closure we got in the end. Hate when authors leave plot holes. Loved everything about this sunshine and grump

ngl i didn’t like the writing style and it got boring like 60% through. very surface level character development

wow honestly this wasn’t such a bad read. first half is meh but the second half makes up for it.

loved harper, which surprised me since my initial reaction was that she probably shits glitter and sunshine. i wanted more of her and her development, i felt like luca got so much out of the relationship, only to say some fucked up shit in the third act and get forgiven easily. i would’ve rather had a hundred more pages of him groveling than have her forgive him as fast as she did. i was honestly so hurt for her, and wanted to see luca truly start to give as much as she did. however, i did still enjoy the book and their romance, and probably could’ve overlooked what i didn’t like if it was a bit longer. (350-360 pages). since we got so much of luca, i would’ve loved to get as much of harper, too. i don’t mind shorter, quicker, reads, but i also normally don’t enjoy the main character(s) as much as i did in this one.

I was fortunate to get an advanced copy of Ki Stephen’s debut novel Spring Tide and we all know how much I love sports romances so I was SUPER excited!! I immediately became obesses with Luca and Harper.

Harper’s just a girl with a crush on a baseball player at her school, but when she’s assigned to the football team for her sports medicine class, she pretends to be dating Luca, the shy, mysterious football player, in order to switch to the baseball team. When Luca learns, he ropes Harper into performing PT on his injury he wants to keep hidden from his coaches. Watching them bond through PT is super cute- Harper’s attention tends to be fleeting with boys and Luca spends most of his time providing for his family yet the two of them find common ground in supporting each other.

If you’re looking for a cute fake-dating sports romance book, Ki Stephen’s debut novel is not one to miss. I can’t wait to watch her career bloom!
