Plot took a nose dive. Barely anything happened. I wanted more magic explanation. Character growth and backstory was good. I can definitely see the influence this series had on SJM. Not sure how to feel about it though.
Got bored and the story felt repetitive. Generally this was just a light popcorn read for me, but now I’m ready for something else.
This was an enjoyable read, but it was harder to follow for me than book one.
I don’t know if it was just my head space as a reader or if it was just a little disjointed but I had a harder time following the plot of this book. Elena wakes up in her transformed body weaker than a fawn learning to walk. It’s a transformation that promises strength and power in the future but as it stands she is so vulnerable.
The general plot for this book was good but not great. I don’t think the pacing was at a place where I could really follow excitedly however I do really want to pick up the next in the series because I want to see the evolution of Elena.
I don’t really know where we will go from this book in terms of plot. I’m sure there is a lot to explore here in this world.
It is a rather long series so this will
Be a long term slow burn when it comes to reading. I like the thought of that.

Ama bunun devamı nerde? :'( Üçüncü kitap ne zaman çıkacak acaba?
I was bored. This was a reread but I think I grew out of this series. I remember later books also bored me a lot. Everyone is hot and powerful, blah blah.
Book 1 was so much better. Nothing interesting happened at all and it was boring as heck.
Also, too many sex scenes. I swear after every interaction Elena does, she would go to Raphael and sleep with him. Example:
Train, then have sex, oh a vampire tried to kill her, go to Raphael and have sex, an archangel wants to murder her? Fight her and again meets Raphael and have sex.
Oh and let's not forget when a child was tortured and almost killed, she meets Raphael and sleeps with him.... WHYYYY? DOES NOT MAKE SENSE.

3.5/5 ⭐
I prefer the first book, and this second one honestly makes me want to put a hold on the rest of the series or even DNF it. I haven't decided yet, but for sure I won't continue for a good while.
This won't be a long review, but let me say this: the book is horny. I LOVE a good book with spice, I really do. However, I don't think this one was marketed solely for that, yet it feels like it. It's still got a good plot, but I feel so bored reading about how horny the main characters are for each other. It's like every chapter they're just trying to be naked. Not to mention how often Elena says how hot and beautiful Raphael is. We get it okay? Not every chapter needs to end with someone grabbing someone else's breast.
Secondly, something about the writing feels off, like something is being skipped. This was fine in the first book because the plot was still so prominent, but this time I can't ignore it. I feel like I'm going mad trying to figure out how to verbalize what's 'wrong' with the writing style.
