3 stars for Riley only & my breadcrumbs I got from juliemitchell and gracejake but my girl Riley deserved better than Sam

This was book I was most excited to read in the series. It was good but not great. I like Sam and Riley but there was something missing.

2.5 stars -

I wanted more of the banter and sexual tension because that part was pretty good. Sam’s constant thoughts of how he wasn’t good enough for Riley, on the other hand - not so much.
lighthearted fast-paced

lauren layne strikes again and i didn’t doubt it for a second

Probably my second favorite book in the series so far after Grace and Jake’s love story. Once again, the romance is cute and steamy in all the right ways.

A real dud of a book. Neither character had much personality and combined they didn't have chemistry. Layne uses eating robustly as a personality for Riley but almost exclusively to anything else: it's all we know abt her in the other books, and we don't get much more in this one. The seems-to-be-a-sexpert-but-really-quite-sexually-limited thing might have been interesting but Layne re-used it in [b:Someone Like You|26117436|Someone Like You (Oxford, #3)|Lauren Layne|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1460762102l/26117436._SY75_.jpg|46064346] so it wasn't so fun here. Plus slut-shaming, boo.
