Wow....just wow. This book is nothing like you expect. I love Lake, Will, Eddie and the boys. Mom/Julia was pretty awesome too. My mom passed away from liver cancer in Sept and she wanted me to understand that I shouldn't have any regrets in life ( which I assured her I didn't) and to live everyday like you mean it (which I can honestly say I dont, yet). Life lessons like Julia taught Lake. You'll need a box of tissues on hand while you read this but it is so worth the journey.
This isn't my favorite book by CH, and although I really enjoyed it, just something keeps me from loving it. Personally I don't find the student/teacher drama appealing. I never have. Going into this book, I didn't even know that was going to be in there, or I may have not read it at all. I did enjoy the slams, loved them, I have a new band to listen to now, thank you CH, and I really think the mc stayed true to her age, so plus. I don't know if I want to read the next ones.. I feel like it's OK to leave the story there... But I may.

This book started my great love for all that is CoHo. This is such a beautiful story that it made me cry a couple of times, and I hate crying. Feelings...yuck! I connected with not only the characters but with the story too. I've never heard of Slam Poetry until this book. I think it's cool that it's based in a town that is 20 minutes away from where I live. I highly recommend this book to my friends all the time. I heart this book hardcore.

Colleen Hoover a un don, elle sait tirer sur la corde sensible avec des mots, de belles phrases pleines d’émotions. Le slam a une place prépondérante dans cette romance. Will en est amateur et va faire découvrir cet art à Layken. Loin d’alourdir le récit, c’est à travers ce genre poétique moderne que les héros et surtout Will vont se livrer à cœur ouvert. Cela donne un ton particulier à l’histoire qui ne m’a pas déplu.
I don't re-read books, I never have. But this book? I will read it a thousand more times and never tire of it. So many amazing insightful lessons and quotes! A definite must read. The best book I've ever read, by a million miles.
