Certainly not Colleen's best work, it was giving Wattpad vibes.

This is probably my first time finishing CoHo's book dry-eyed. For the first time, I did not feel much of the characters' pain, and I am craving for a heart-wrenching book so I might have picked it up on the wrong time.

At the same time, it was an eye-opener about life&death which I really liked for it is true that we don't want to talk about death and in our futile attempts to delay it, we end up getting caught off guard. And what about those who we've left behind? How do they get going again?

I also liked the idea of the Slam because I love poetry, but still I could not connect to the poems that were featured in the book.

Currently walking to the bookstore to buy the sequel

A little too teenage angsty for my taste… although the teenage angst was portrayed accurately!

Super cute, but I needed more Lake and Will

I have read quite a few of her more recent novels, so I went back to her debut novel. After the death of her father, Larken mother uproots them from Texas to Michigan. Upon arrival they meet their neighbor who has a brother the same age as hers.

They have a date and decide not do the mundane first date starts of asking about jobs, school, etc. If they would, we would have a much different book. Instead we are set off in a tangent of many different directions. Some good some not so good.

I think Im going soft, all my high ratings lately :P
