I didn’t think this was one of Colleen Hoovers best, but was still a great story. I felt like the angsty relationship between a 21 and 18 year old was annoying at times, but did like the relationship building between the main character and her mother with terminal cancer.

Rating 5

Very good. Different from other books as the author makes you feel the emotion through poetry. I really felt for the two main characters and I was cheering them on the whole way. Highly recommend.

This was an okay Colleen book. It took me awhile to get into it, but it started to get better towards the middle of the book. I loved the teacher/student dynamic of the book, it reminded me a lot of Ezra and Ara from PPL. I however didn’t like how we didn’t get to see Lake’s moms passing, or at least what lead up to it. And I hate how it ended. I wanted to see how their relationship would go on after they confessed their love for one another, but it didn’t. It felt very rushed towards the end. I don’t plan on reading the second, since it’s the same story but from his perspective. But if I do, it’ll be here.

I want to give this book five stars. I really do. But Layken was just so annoying. There were a lot of times where I just wanted to shake her and slap her on the face.

wtf was this??

Didn’t realize this was a series. This was a good read and I’m looking forward to the others.

Another great one from Colleen Hoover ❤️ hard to put down! Although very sad in parts. Can’t wait to read the next in the series.

My expectations were low. The title, the cover, the fact this book is over a decade old and I believe was the first one the author published… I thought it was going to be a smutty, poorly written romance. I was still down for that, but my expectations were a quick weekend read that wouldn’t mean too much to me by Monday.

And then I started to read it and I thought, “I’m a 30-something old woman reading about a high school chick?!” And I really was questioning my life decisions.

However, I really loved this book! I cried sad tears. I cried happy tears. There were quite a few characters I actually really liked (the mother, Eddie, Will). And the slam nights?! I quite enjoyed the poetry aspect. It wasn’t the slamming I was expecting (ha), but it was so much better than that.
