Wow, This was something. First off, I hate Brooke. For the majority of this book I felt bad for her and then when I realized what happened, I could not stand her. Similarly, when the whole thing was going on, I was so annoyed with the others and when everything came to light, I was rooting for them to win!! What a wild ride this was and emotions all over the place.

Megan Lally with another solid read! This one had me on the edge of my seat pretty much from the very beginning. Lally does a great job in both of her books so far in creating one narrative then blowing you away towards the end of the book with a major reveal. She did not disappoint here! I won't say too much as I don't want to venture into spoiler territory but weirdly Lally had me rooting for the bad guy somehow, which is not usually the case when I read thrillers. A quick and entertaining read.

To Brooke, image is everything. She works hard to maintain perfect grades, perfect looks, a perfect life—especially after "the incident" that threatened it all. At a celebration night, an old truck starts aggressively tailing Brooke and her best friend, wanting the truth about “the incident”. This terrifying drive is about to bring out Brooke’s worst fears… if she survives it.

In theory, I shouldn’t have liked this book because it was full of teenage drama 😄, but I had trust in Megan Lally and I wasn’t wrong. What a ride it was (pun intended)!

This is one of those popcorn thrillers where the less you know, the better. I’d recommend jumping in blind and be open to possibilities. I must say that none of the characters were likeable, so I didn’t connect with any of them. However, the action scenes were excellent - they gave me adrenaline rush!

I’d also highly recommend enjoying this on audiobook. The narration was superb, it delivered the audio drama experience to me perfectly. I read the entire book in a day (while doing chores)!
