I might have guessed and seen a lot of things coming but this book still had me hooked!!

Started off a bit rough, but might have just been me as the last book I read was also Ivy League related and wasn’t that good. But I still gave it a shot and omg I looove thrillers that have restrictions to them!

Mostly stuck in a car? Two alternative timelines? Petty drama escalating way too much? Betrayals upon betrayals?

I didn’t know who to feel sorry for, who to hate. In the end, everyone is somehow a bad person but also somehow did bad things with reasons?

I think what got me was the writing style, it was quite addicting to read. I’d love to give Megan Lally’s other works a read!

I didn’t mind the book but nothing really stood out to me. It was pretty predictable. The characters weren’t bad but when they were, they were awful. A 4 would’ve been generous. I’m glad I read the book nonetheless the less. The writing style was really good and I liked the plot either way.

So for my fellow Francis Parker alums, this book is basically what would happen if Claire Klein got too power hungry and decided to murder Carly Stacey.

Basically this annoying-ass high school narc (Claire Klein) who’s ASB pres and cheer captain has beef with this other girl (Carly Stacey) cuz Carly’s prettier than her and also wants to be queen bee. So Claire MURDERS her.

However—unbeknownst to Claire—Claire’s bff (Sophie Woods) actually witnessed the murder but Claire just assumed Sophie was passed out drunk (which, knowing 2014 Sophie Woods, is very believable).

Sophie continues pretending to be Claire’s bff even tho she actually hates Claire (which is pretty in alignment with Sophie and Claire’s 2014 friendship) and Sophie decides she wants to scare Claire into confessing to the murder.

So Sophie teams up with her bf (Jack Benoit) and Claire’s love interest (Chris Papa) and they decide to dress up in disguises and almost drive Claire off a cliff (like actually off a literal cliff) in hopes of getting her to confess.

A lot of other stuff happens like a cop gets almost killed (YAY!!) and Claire ends up confessing and going to jail (also YAY!!) and Sophie, Jack, and Chris live happily ever after!!
