I was so looking forward to this book after That’s Not My Name, but this was a bit of a let-down unfortunately.
The author gave us allllll of the answers to the “twists” at the beginning of the book so I wasn’t surprised by anything. The characters were all so awful that I cared about none of them and didn’t actually care who did what and why. And the writing fell a bit flat for me :(

this was really fun! i loved megan lally's debut, and this one was similarly full of tense, edge of your seat suspense. i'm very selective of the ya mystery/thrillers that i read nowadays, but this author is definitely on my list of auto-reads now. i loved the single-night timeline and high speed chase feeling of the whole book.

This book was definitely a wild ride. At first, Brooke drove me a little crazy. She came across as overly whiny, dramatic, and unlikeable, and I was trying to figure out if that was intentional or not. The timeline, which bounced back and forth between the time around “the incident” and the present, threw me off a little in the beginning, but I was able to get the hang of it after a while.

I tried to guess the twists and even managed to guess one of them correctly, but of course I didn’t guess the major plot twist. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book until the end. The ending however, took me by surprise with that final twist, and I loved how it all played out. The entire second half had me on the edge of my seat, and I could put this down. This definitely was not the story I was expecting, but the unexpected twist made me enjoy this even more.

this book was okay it kept my attention but i definitely guessed the twist!

This fast paced thriller kept me intrigued throughout, despite having horribly unlikeable characters. I actually grew to hate the main character more as the story progressed, and liked no one in the end. The small nod to Love is Blind made me chuckle. (Audiobook)
