Brooke had to all but then the unthinkable happens. This book really got me!!

2.5 stars rounded down for wasted potential.
This book could have been good, in fact it should have been good. But it just wasn't. The characters were all very hard to like so I didn't care who did what to whom. When you don't have anyone to root for, you don't connect to any of it. If you've read That's Not My Name, you will be very disappointed in this book, but if you haven't, skip this one and go read that one because it's infinitely better.

“For anyone who's felt the unique pain of being betrayed by a friend.
They don't deserve you.
Never did.
Wish them the worst.
Hit'em with your car.*”

First I wanna talk about the acknowledgment because, real.

Actual rating: 3.5
This book was so gripping and the plot was good. I liked the addition of an unreliable narrator and timeline switches. I admit there were a few bits here and there that were predictable but the good thing about it was the extra details that weren’t expected. I was really hoping for a Claire pov, even just one chapter, because Claire as a character, her friendship with Brooke, her feelings, weren’t really explored enough. Also, I hated Brooke’s dad so much and I feel like he was the reason she became who she was. Also Dylan really got on my nerves because I couldn’t tell whether he genuinely liked Brooke or he was using her?

I need Megan Lally to write more books! Her thrillers are insane! I love them!

This isn't my kind of story... Rich kid fighting with another kid, who ends up dying. Grieving brother is some how out of line for wanting the truth to come out... nope, not for me. DNF at 50%.

I loved "Thats Not My Name", so I was really looking forward to reading this book. It did not dissapoint and kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole book!

I don't want to cause any spoilers but I found some elements to be very predictable and others to be a bit more of a surprise. Either way, it was an enjoyable, quick listen!

Thanks to Sourcefire Books, NetGalley, and Megan Lally for the audio version of the ARC.
