This follow-up to Before the Coffee Gets Cold continues with the same gentle charm and emotional depth that made the first so special.

Once again, Kawaguchi delivers a quiet kind of magic—an intimate collection of stories wrapped in soft moments and deep reflection. The writing is simple yet profound, effortlessly tugging at your heartstrings without trying too hard.

Reading this felt like slipping into a warm bath on a rainy day—comforting, relaxing, and surprisingly emotional at times. A lovely reminder of the power of small things, of time, of memory, and connection. Japanese fiction at its finest.

This was cozy and warm and beautiful but it just didn’t pack the same punch as the first one

DID NOT FINISH: 67%

I enjoyed the first book of this series, but I feel like this one rushed through the actual time travel parts and instead gave a lot of information about the rules and back stories of the characters. The first short story got me emotional, but not enough to keep my interest to see how the last story ends.
