Everything about this worked for me! Magnus is freaking hot and Dante is just the right kind of pissed of and angry and sexy! Their relationship worked for me even if it was a bit over the top and they fell for each other way too fast. I love this series! This book is one of the main reasons why

I won't lie I'm a sucker for a solid m/m story and this series is absolutely fantastic and this book was no different. I love the dark nature of these books. It's raw and gritty but hits home with some real stuff. Magnus and Dante were beautiful to read about. Both characters dealing with some brokenness and guilt that they have no reason to carry, one is trying so hard to not let his feelings show while the other doesn't feel like he deserves anything other than loneliness. I loved seeing them come together. The fighting and bickering was fun but when these two got together it was off the charts. Seriously a fantastic m/m read and I can't wait for the next one. Thanks for the chance to review it.

Sometimes happiness doesn't take the form you expect

I love all kinds of M/M books, but one kind in particular that makes me giddy is when the guy is CONVINCED he is straight, making the feelings he's starting to have for another guy that much more confusing (I guess this is essentially what they call GFY). Magnus falls in this category, making his and Dante's story that much more fun to read, especially since they more or less seem to loathe each other at first (enemies to lovers being another trope I adore).

If you've been reading Sloane Kennedy's books, at this point you can pretty much assume that 1) the guys are broken in one way or another, and 2) they will help each other find peace and happiness. And I *never* get tired of it. Sloane somehow manages to make each character have their own voice and their own issues, and the story is never trite or predictable. In fact, this one had me on the edge of my seat sometimes! Lots of action and sexy times, but lots of sweet and poignant moments too. Another 5-star read!!

Oh man, I wasn't ready for this one.
I think I was just thinking gosh this series is so dark and it couldn't get worse right?
I WAS WRONG.
Read this book if you want to know why.

This is my second time reading this book, and I love it just as much the second time around. Dante & Magnus are an unlikely couple, but once the song and dance was out of the way they worked. The first half of the book is spent with them trying to avoid the inevitable of being together. They both have a lot of baggage and very sad baggage at that. I just wanted to hug them both, especially Dante, everything that happened did a number on him. I loved them together and was surprised at how well they worked together. Magnus didn't dwell on his feelings for Dante and just went in full force. The sex between them in electric and I couldn't get enough. Magnus's ex-wife was a bitch and a half, she was really horrible. I loved the hunt for Dante's brother at the end and can't wait to read his book.
