sweet RH romance
I enjoyed this sweet RH romance! Nova and her men were so good for each other. Rigby was probably my favorite - his personality stood out the most to me. Devan and River were both emotionally damaged, broody and a little distant. Rigby was playful and affectionate from the getgo. Nova was feisty but I agree with other reviewers - she did cry a lot. There is no MM and only one group scene.
Overall, this was a quick steamy ready!

My first book by this author, but man, it won't be my last.
I really had a hard time putting this down, sneaking in a few pages between meetings at work today, or any other time I could wedge it in. It wasn't a super angsty story - it was a lovely story of some damaged people fitting together into a supportive whole.
I think this might be the first RH I've read that is really grounded in the real world, dealing with high profile people and the weird way the public would take that news. It was harsh, and shitty ... but that's pretty much how it would go, imo. People are judgey, and they like to tear down celebrities. And despite all the hockey dudes being utter - public - manwhores, it was of course the sweet woman that the media happily labeled a whore. It was appalling, but real (as much as it disgusts me to say). And I didn't begrudge Nova needing a minute to come to terms with it.
This book did definitely have steam, but it had a ratio of plot/story to sex that I dig - maybe 75% story, 25% smut. That kept it from feeling tedious - some RH books have like a 50/50 or even worse ratio, and I find myself skimming the smut by the halfway point, eager to get to the story bits. Here, it was more about these characters slowly coming together than it was constant sex, and that's my preference.

Really good read. Good story line, just moved a little too fast for me. Also, the ending was just cut off honestly. It was FULL STOP.. NO MORE.. THE END...

This was a solid read, had its amazing moments and it was a generally good read. The only thing that bugged me was the use of the word 'mightn't' but aside from that there was no major flaw.
The fact that Huey's heart condition isn't mentioned more doesn't bother me. I feel like the focus of the book was navigating a polyamorous relationship while being in the limelight so I didn't feel that there was a need to have an in depth story on any of the other characters, the surface story we got was enough.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Huey gets his own story cause I'm a sucker for things like that.

really liked this. No, I really did.
Did the FL burst into tears at the drop of the hat for 15 chapters? Yeah. So what? It was understandable even though it was also silly at times but it was also like, endearing and sweet too. She’s a very feminine character and while sometimes those molds bug the ever loving sht out of me bc they’re usually done so poorly (internalized misogyny anyone?), I actually don’t hate them at all. In fact, I tend to relate to them MORE.
If she were leading a rebel army of majestic woodland elves on the backs of unicorns tho- this would be, perhaps, a totally different conversation- but she’s not and I’m not offended that she’s so soft and squishy. 🤍🤍🤍 Again, I personally dug it.
This was a slow build at the start but it felt like it was worth it. At its core I think this was bordering on Lighthearted Contemporary. There’s not really anything that happens in this that’s worthy of being called Angst. Yea, she chickens out for a minute and leaves, yea, the stalker and the media hounds. But even in the midst of all of those plot points, this was an inarguably even keeled paced read.
I’ll admit tho- because there’s always something- there were some things that bugged me while I read. Silly as it may be, and not that it mattered at all in the long run with my rating but the word choices this author used were… well, a choice.
Within the first five chapters I had never seen the word “mightn’t” used so much in my entire life. I get shudders now as I spell it. 🥶 It was the oddest sprinkle of slang or vocabulary or whatever and it seriously tripped me up for a sec. Thankfully, after a couple more chapters that word ceases to exist in the remaining book so thank god but there were other odd word choices I noticed that made me tilt my head in thought like, “Can you use that word like that???”.
It also might be worth mentioning the baby is clearly related to Sleeping Beauty as this was his sole convenient character trait throughout the novel- but hey, I’m not trying to be picky here….
Wait, wait, wait. Ok. One last thing that itched at me I swear- THOUGH ITS STILL NOT A KNOCK! Devon, one of the ML’s and the resident Billionaire in the groups midst, well… some of his reactions to crises were, to me, a bit like, “and he runs a business??”. Just, questionable overall. At one point he just storms into a room full of lawyers and managers and public relations and other important whoever’s and demands “I don’t care if you have to buy the whole company!! Fix it!!!” And then storms out. Like: 😳 bruh. He runs his own billion dollar company?? This is his game face?
But, aside from those one off’s? All in all? I liked this. I really did. Very cute. Super sweet. Very low energy on its readers part and that’s just perfect sometimes. 💗

Nova just lost her parents and is all alone. All of a sudden she gets someone to say you need to take care of Huey her half brother. The mother of that child is gone and now her three "uncles" want her to move with them across the country to help take care of him. They want to be a part of his life but why are they so attracted to her too.
This was a great story of what happens when there is loss and but you have a "family" to help you carry one.

This one is on me. If I had read the description more I would have realized that she immediately gets a child and that is not something I'm interested in reading about.
