Well this was just an absolute delight! This book really took me by surprise, I was previously only familiar with Grace McGinty as an Omegaverse author but my goodness, I'm so glad I stumbled upon this book.

Devan, River, and Ripley were such a great trio. You can't not love Ripley's golden retriever personality, and the love and trust between the three of them was so admirable.

I appreciated how Nova was confident in herself and wanted to do what was best for Huey.

This book just made my heart smile but it was also

RTC, this is probably my least favorite McGinty book

Overall, I did enjoy this book and had a pretty fun time reading it. I think that some of the relationships sometimes felt underdeveloped and I wanted a little more from them. One of my favorite parts, though was navigating a poly relationship in the public eye and that is something that I often do not see in why choose books.

Good story overall. I liked the found family aspects and the relatable trying to figure out how to be a mom which nothing else can prepare you for. Although man I wish my baby was as easy as the one in this story. I’m stuck nap trapped under a baby about the same age as the one in this story and yet our main character is easily able to set down the baby and get lots of delicious sex. Im not jealous… well maybe. In general the babies age/abilities were more in line with a like 6-9 month old rather than a 2-3 month old but I’ll let it slide. Reminded me of pucking around but if the announcement went in the more realistic way. And again hockey romance is great because there’s always at least one MN character!

Nova, River, Devan, and Rigby. I thought this book was really cute. I was skeptical from the bio but I dove in and didn’t even notice when I was more than half way done with the book. I liked the dynamic and the drama. Rigby is golden retriever. Devan is the non-player with some demons. River is broody tough guy

4/5🌶️, KU, contemporary hockey why choose (MFMM), no swords crossed, guardian of her baby brother FMC, two hockey playing MMCs - one a golden retriever and one grumpy and possessive, and one emotionally aloof billionaire CEO

A single parent, why choose with hockey players, should have been a totally hit, right? But, nope. It was good but I felt like so much of the plot was just left unfinished or bits were shoehorned in to add suspense and tension. Then the spice - while it was present, it wasn’t as hot as I would have liked and with only one group scene. I seem to have a lot of negative to say about this one, but I didn’t hate it. It was just that I kept expecting more plot, more answers and/or more spice and didn’t end up receiving any in the end. One thing I REALLY enjoyed was one of the MMCs had a praise kink, which I wish was explored even more. I love a well placed “good boy” as much as, or even more than, a “good girl”.

This book was a really good read! The think I liked about this dynamic is that it wasn't at all ordinary, minus the obvious polyamory. Their 'meet' really kicked off this book and it drew me in the second we met the men of the story. Honestly reading it was such an experience, it was heartfelt, and emotional as well as hot asf.
