A spicy romance between a baker and a firefighter. What more could you want? :) The fact that they were childhood friends makes it even more sweet. Some mysterious fires give this one a slight mystery as well. I really like this series. Can't wait for the next book. :)

Liked it better than the last book with Ali & Luke. Simple fluff, everyone's broken until they are healed by love. Leah and Jack were fairly inoffensive compared to some of her other pairings.

Love this series!! I cannot get enough of Jill Shalvis's books. I was so excited to read this story, I love Leah. I love how Jill Shalvis' books bring you in right away wether you start in the middle of the Lucky Harbor series or the beginging. You can relate to every character which makes the books so much more enjoyable! LOVE LOVE LOVE JILL SHALVIS!!

BABY SPOILERS ONLY. The romance was good but there were some things that really bugged me about this book. The author went to a lot of trouble to do firefighter research and then didn't research her location at all. No one goes for a swim in the Pacific NW. The water is in the 40's year round. She would have died being out there in a bikini. Also, there are only a few days where one might wear a sundress. Summers are not hot enough that you wouldn't have a sweatshirt available even in July. Sometimes summer is downright cold. Twilight annoyed me for the same reason. The author had obviously never visited. (No one uses umbrellas in the PNW.).

The mystery was really heavy handed and then the reveal happened too quickly. Meh. The romance was nice, but it was like the author didn't know where she was going when she started. We got a lot of details about someone or something that you figured would be important that ended up not being anything.

Another standard Lucky Harbor novel. Nothing too spectacularly special here. Pretty solid fare from Shalvis.

All-in-all the return to Lucky harbor was another success. Getting to know more about Jack and Leah and watching as they finally admit their attraction and fall in love proved one of the most enjoyable stories I’ve seen unfold in a while. Though they each certainly had their issues to work through and outside influences pushed and pulled at their relationship, seeing them find happiness together gives me hope for a brighter world full of love. I should probably take a moment away from the relationship aspect to mention there was a dangerous undercurrent with this story as an arsonist wreaked havoc on LH and its inhabitants, which had a surprising conclusion in and of itself. But the most important part of this book for me was the romance, so back to that. :) When they are finally faced with the choice of going all in or folding on their chance at a future together, both Leah and Jack finally step up and admit their love and that being together to face their issues and the problems the world throws their way will always be better than going it alone. Their love definitely conquers all. Great work, Jill, and I can’t wait to see what antics you get up to with the story between Ben and Aubrey, since you’ve given us a teasing glimpse of their future. I so wish I could travel to Lucky Harbor because this little town seems to have an overabundance of hot, alpha males that I could grab for myself. Keep up the great writing and you’ll always have a fan in me.

I absolutely loved Leah & Jack. They could've been the classic friends turned lovers story line, and in some ways they were, but they are also so much more. Leah and Jack were both raised in Lucky Harbor, so they are locals who know and can understand if not begrudgingly appreciate the town's quirky residents (Lucille for example). Leah's dad was verbally abusive when she was growing up, telling her that she couldn't do anything right. As a result, Leah can't finish anything. Jack's dad was a firefighter and died a hero. Jack watched his mom close herself off from love and did the same. Despite these issues they ultimately get their HEA. I spent so much of this book laughing out loud because this book, like the others in the Lucky Harbor series, had so much humor to go with the sweet moments. I highly recommend this book to any romance reader and can't wait for Aubrey & Ben's story.
