if given the choice between a lobotomy and reading this book, i'd choose a lobotomy. boring, pretentious, rich hipster drivel with 1 dimension characters who think they are Special and Interesting but are actually just stereotypes and cliches. i would never recommend this book to anyone

Exceptionally well written with really poignant summations of life and love. All in all though I’m not sure what to make of this book. Overall, I did enjoy reading it but I’ve come to the end confused. Why was Eleanor written in first person? Because she’s the most self-assured character? The whole journey for Frank is a bit confusing to me. I’m really rooting for Cleo in her new life, she deserves to find peace.

Quentin made me angry. So incredibly angry. I think the only character I even remotely liked was Santiago who seems so sweet and hoping for the best.

Have to ponder this more.
