The Arrogant One

Marni Mann

4.1 AVERAGE

I don't know how Marni Mann does it, but I have once again fallen head over heels for another fictional billionaire. Lockhart (Hart) Weston...THE MAN THAT YOU ARE! The Arrogant One is a super steamy, fun, and fast-paced billionaire romance that’s hard to put down. Hart and Sadie are complete opposites, but the chemistry between them is off the charts from the moment they meet. Their first night together is hot and unforgettable. They don’t even know each other’s full names, but can’t stop thinking about one another. When they randomly bump into each other again, it feels like fate.

Hart falling for Sadie is everything. I loved watching him change and open up. Sadie is smart, strong, and knows what she wants. Their relationship had ups and downs, but I was rooting for them the whole time. Marni Mann really knows how to write stories that are hot and have a great plot. I loved the food blogger x restaurant owner angle. It is unique, fun, and makes the secret identity element believable. I am locked in with the Weston brothers and can't wait to read more about them. If you love steamy romance stories with confident men and strong women, I highly recommend this book.

Narration:
Vanessa Edwin and Aiden Snow NAILED this one! They performed this audiobook using dual-style narration, and it was amazing. Vanessa and Aiden did a wonderful job portraying all things Sadie and Hart. I could feel every raw emotion, and felt like I was there with the characters. They brought this story to life and made it impossible to stop listening.

A brand new series from Marni? Say no more & count me in.

As with most of Marni’s books, The Arrogant One is the perfect mix of spice and sass. Hart’s dirty mouth had me hooked from the start, and the chemistry between him and Sadie was off the charts. I loved that Sadie could challenge him and match his arrogant attitude, and her being a food critic?! What a fun angle to explore & read about!

The push and pull between Hart and Sadie was one of my favorite parts of the book! It was equal parts fiery and flirty, but we could feel the emotions building from their first encounter.

I can confidently say this is another page turner from Marni, and I Couldn’t get through it fast enough! If you love confident heroes, bold heroines, and a storyline that keeps you invested, this is a must read!

Like ALL of Marni’s intertwined series, I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next master piece in the Weston Group!

WOW. This page turner starts at Page 1! Marni, thank you and your team so much for this ARC. It was one of a kind and I am so excited for this series. Y'all don't even know. It's going to be one of the best yet. Hart falls hard on day one, in chapter one. Their chemistry is off the charts! You won't want to put this book down.

Sooooooo hot. Insta-lust at first sight starts Hart & Sadie off with the spice and only gets better.  Throughout the story we see deeper into their feelings and motivations… Hart has never wanted a relationship, Sadie has never had a one-night stand - but their instant connection has them adjusting their plans. Secrets threaten to ruin their relationship before it's really begun, but through honest communication and love, they fight to their HEA. Their texts and banter had me cracking up most of the time, and feeling all the feels when they got vulnerable with each other. Glimpses of other characters from Marni's world and sneak peeks into what's coming for the Weston family were an added bonus… excited for what's next (and very intrigued about Eden's life story!!) Highly recommend!!

Hart aka Lockhart and Sadie was only supposed to have one night, could turn into more.  Hart and his siblings are opening a new Restaurant and they have competition with another restaurant that’s getting reviews from Miss Foodie.  But who is she.  Hart and Sadie’s story is a great one.  Marni did it again with this one.   Can’t wait for the next one.

Tropes:
-billionaire romance
-forbidden love
-reformed playboy
-one night stand
-hidden identity
-chapter 1 spice
-mutual pining

Umm.. yes, please. Hart Weston can talk dirty to me any day. I devoured this audiobook. The narrators, Aiden Snow and Vanessa Edwin, nailed their roles. This was my first book by Marni, and it will not be my last. I can’t wait to read more from this series and her backlog.

Sadie has the most incredible job ever. I want to be her when I grow up. Let me go to all the best restaurants and try everything. I would be in heaven.

The chemistry between Sadie and Hart is instant and hot. We get chapter one spice that had me clutching my pearls. I enjoyed how these two navigated their problems.

I can’t recommend this enough. I loved it so much. I hope you will love it, too.

Quotes:
“I assure you, the only bad thing that’s going to happen is you being forced to endure orgasm after orgasm until you can’t physically come anymore.”

“When you wake up and squeeze your legs together, you’re going to feel soreness from what I did to you. You don’t get that from a dream.”

This was a surprise find in a RARE post. I enjoyed it thoroughly.  It was supposed to be a 1 night stand, but becomes more than that. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite tropes. She may have a secret, but so does he..

What I really loved about this book is the strong independent woman who has a self sustaining career. Spicy yet emotionally mature. 10 out of 10 would recommend. It accompanied the Spade Hotel series VERY well. Yes. Yes. Yes.

✨ Just finished The Arrogant One and it was an unexpected treat.

📖 Sadie and Lockhart meet at a restaurant bar, not knowing they work in the same industry. When they go into their evening agreeing to one night, the next morning brings regrets.

💭 If you love secret identity tropes, playboy until he meets her, and one-night onlys that turn into more, this one's for you. The secret identity could lead to a horrible miscommunication trope that is a turn off, but the way the characters communicated… yes please, let’s get more of that!
My favorite part? When Lockhart’s sister, Eden, helps out Sadie in front of the family. Also, I’m DYING for Eden’s story, you just get a sense there is so much there!

Would I recommend it? Yes. The restaurant/food industry isn’t one I see in a lot of romance novels, which made this a fun change of scenery.

⚠️ Open door spice from the first chapter.
