Marni once again created magic with her newest series, The Weston Group. The Arrogant One is a steamy contemporary romance between a restaurant owner and a secret food critic. It's told in dual pov and follows the MCs, Sadie and Hart. As a fellow foodie, this book was especially fun! I love a man who cooks, plus the the extended one night stand storyline, and bestie support. I listened to the audiobook which was dual narrated by THE Aiden snow and Vanessa Edwin. The fantastic audio narration made this even better! They captured the chemistry of these characters perfectly! I loved the tension and buildup within this storyline. Hart stole the show with how eager to please both in the kitchen and in bedroom. Sadie’s character was smart, fun, and creative. I admire the effort she put into building her career. I felt how frustrated she was about having to hide her identity as their relationship developed. She truly was caught between a rock and a hard place. As always, Marni delivered on the SPICE! If you wear glasses prepare for them to be fogged. This book was just delicious, grandma's homemade pound cake quality yum!

This was my first book by Marni Mann and will not be my last! It was a fun palette cleanser with a unique premise! This spice starts in the first few chapters, so this is great if you are not in the mood for delayed gratification.
Sadie makes her living as a successful and well-respected foodie influencer on social media. She prides herself on giving informative but most importantly HONEST reviews of the establishment of the reginal food scene.
Hart (Lockhart) Weston is one of the owners of The Weston Group, a company that owns and operates some of the most prominent and successful restaurants in the country.
As fate would have it, the two meet at a new and up incoming restaurant and sparks fly. They have INSTANT chemistry. Their connection makes her break her no ONS rule and turns this playboy into a devoted partner. Everything seems to be going great until Sadie realizes that Hart is the owner of the restaurant. She is set to review. This makes her question if she can maintain her unbiased opinions. Worse Hart is completely in the dark about her alter ego…what could go wrong?
I loved the foodie aspect of the story. One, this was a plotline I hadn’t read before, and two, I am a foodie as well, so I appreciate that type of content! I would be a subscriber of the blog for sure!
I was very happy that the conflicts in the story were solved by the MCs taking to each other…imagine that! They are in their late 20’s, early 30’s and I despise when the adults do not act like it.
The spice is great; it is on the raunchy side. The MMC has a filthy mouth and inner monologue, so watch out! This is more smut forward, especially toward the beginning of the story, before the plot really starts to form.
I expected Hart to be an alpha-hole based on the book title. He wasn't at all. Honestly, he wasn't arrogant he was confident, and it was SEXY!
I think it took a bit too long for Hart to figure out that Sadie is “Dear Foodie”. There was also some confusion on my end. There are a few times that Sadie attempts to come clean to Hart about her alter ego, and she can’t quite get the words out. At first, I just seemed like she was a coward, but later, there was an NDA mentioned. This makes me wonder why she would ever bring it up without a signed NDA in the first place. It made the NDA feel like an afterthought.
Part of me also thought her being a food reviewer and him a restaurant owner was not that big a deal. The food at his restaurants was great, so everyone calm down!
There are a few things that keep me from giving it 5 stars but overall, this was an extremely enjoyable read and I highly recommend it!

I also really liked that they actually had shared interests and some deeper connection beyond the physical.
And when the secrets start coming out? Whew. I was glued to the pages. I appreciated how they dealt with it all — it didn’t feel overly dramatic, just very real and human.

There was so much heat in this book that I melted!
Sadie is a foodie and an influencer who reviews restaurants, when she bumps into Hart and the chemistry is instant.
Hart is a one night stand kind of guy, but can't seem to stay away from Sadie (I call it "Instat Love"!). These two couldn't keep their hands off each other and their love of food just made them closer.
Everytime Marni writes these books with the food and desserts, it just makes me hungry and want to recreate the desserts and go out and try new food!
I can't wait to read more about the Weston family!
What a great start to a new series!! I was hooked from the very beginning!! It was a true one sit read! I couldn’t put it down!! This author always brings the spice in her books and this one was no different! She is still the reigning spice queen in my eyes! While spicy I loved the story! I absolutely loved Hart and Sadie! This is definitely one of those reads that when you get to the end you will be bummed that it is over! I know I was! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the series!!! So if you’re in the mood for a spicy, alpha hero, billionaire, one night stand, hidden identity romance look no further!
