Angie & Mel are back for another “sweet” mystery. It has been a bit since we’ve seen them. Angie and Tate now have a daughter.

Mama Angie is in full force both figuratively and literally when a friend from her LA days comes to town for a series of holiday concerts. This was such a fun read with Marty twerking in a Santa Suit, the Brothers helping out and such. I was glad to see that Oz was still around despite continuing to work at an area resort.

While they did go off investigating they seemed a bit more responsible in their actions. Learning a bit more of Angie's back story was cool.

I did figure out the who early, I didn't care. I enjoyed going along for the adventure. Quick read with delicious sounding cupcakes, a murder mystery, The Brothers, and lots of family. It was so nice, I just might read it twice.

Happy Reading!

The Christmas plot was cute and it’s always fun to see the familiar characters I’ve grown to love. The murder plot seemed disjointed to me; it wasn’t even mentioned until about half way through the book. Worth a read if you like the series but nothing to rave about. It’s a great comfort read though!

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this ARC.

I fully acknowledge that I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but I love other Jen McKinley series so I knew I'd be in for a treat (pun intended).

It wasn't too difficult to know who's who in the story but they have such a large family (and probably even bigger since this is a Christmas book). What a sweet novel.

Angie's old friend, Shelby Vaughn, is in town to play a Christmas show in town. She's an up and coming singer and the most humble person you'll meet. Mel and Angie are catering the VIPs with their cupcakes. All seems well until Doc Howard, Shelby's manager is found dead with a cupcake in hand. With so many people on and off stage, and how hated Doc was, no one is sure who is the killer. But Mel's uncle is a detective and of course he has Mel and Angie to help along the way.
