Angie and Mel are always a delightful mystery solving duo. Love this series. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read an advanced reader copy!

It’s the holiday season, and Mel reluctantly agrees to provide holiday catering for a friend from Angie’s past. An up and coming singer is doing a residency and Fairy Tale Cupcakes is part of the VIP room providing food. When the singer’s controlling manager turns up dead holding a cupcake, Mel investigates to help clear the genuinely sweet singer who finds herself accused of two murders. I really appreciated some of the in-humor and how real the relationships between the characters (especially siblings) are. I loved this addition to the series.

This series is always one of my favorites to dive back into. I love Mel & Angie and how they always stumble upon a murder scene... even when they are really trying very hard not too. Can't wait to see whats next.

Mel and Angie are about to dive into another enchanting cozy mystery by Jenn McKinlay. Christmas is just around the corner, and they’re hosting a singer who’s skyrocketing in popularity, Shelby Vaughn. She’s got concerts lined up for the next two weeks. While Shelby’s in town, she’s thrilled to catch up with her old pal Angie. Since Angie is one of the owners of Fairy Tale Bakeries, Shelby asks her to whip up some delicious cupcakes for the guests during her visit.

Oh no! Everyone’s shocked when Shelby’s manager is found dead. You see, Shelby had a heated argument with her manager just a few days ago, so she becomes the prime suspect. But there are other suspects too. In fact, there were a bunch of guys in Santa’s costumes at the time, dancing for one of Shelby’s performances. So, it’s going to be tough to figure out who the real killer is.

Mel and Angie, the murder-solving duo, are back to help Shelby clear her name and find the real killer. Just like in the previous books, this one’s sure to keep you hooked, especially if you’ve been following the series from the start. Mel and Angie have come a long way, and their stories are just so engaging.

Many thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Eh, I think this was definitely just okay. The best parts of this were the yumminess of the sweets and the whimsical holiday feel but that's about it. I found Mel to be super annoying and I guessed the culprit super early on. The mystery just felt a bit bland and basic but it was fun I guess.
