My goal is a CS Lewis book each quarter. This one took me 4 months! So good, so deep, so relevant to day even though written years ago.
I belive this is another classic everyone should read. He is deep and thought provoking and meant to be read slowly and thoroughly...
Theses are warning to Christian in an interesting twist as the this letter is being dicated by a higher demon who is teaching a lower demon who is out to get a Christian.
I was able to see the play in July which was amazing and helped me make more sense.

So this is perfect representation of the USA and the world as a whole. It speaks directly of what's actively happening to destroy our souls. The destruction of education, the middle class, gender, marriage, relationships, the nuclear family and the false narrative of the individual as being greater than the group/Civilization. Bending over backwards to accept those that only want to bring destruction and collapse of our fundamental and long standing ways of life. This is an educational book, not so much a novel. It is a cautionary tale of what has happened and what will happen. This book is written perfectly and needs nothing further, besides a reader who is willing to look at their own faults. Step away from God, you'll be stepping towards Satan. "Good person" or not. This book is warning you, will you listen?

This book should be required reading for every Christian and non Christian a like. Lewis manages capture exactly what and how Satan works in a few short pages. Well done!
I really like the perspective this book has. I think it really speaks to modern times poignantly. All of our current distractions overwhelm us and keeps us confused. Weโve gotten to a point where we do hate our neighbors, we are constantly critical of anything we arenโt indoctrinated into, and we have lost a sense of individuality.. Iโm not Christian but I think this book shows that Lewis had a talent for social observation.
I found some of the logic contradictory and a little too keen on sticking to the status quo. But, the ending of Screwtapeโs toast felt like an especially powerful commentary on whatโs become of our current administration. The way they hide behind โdemocracyโ with their words and with their actions defund education and preach against anything thatโs different.

2/5โญ๏ธ. I mean, it had good ideas and truths in but the whole demon writing letters to another demon format just did not do it for me. Didnโt care for it.
Solid gold, like everything Lewis writes. Very convicting and makes you aware of the "fiery darts the devil is throwing at you all the time" as Luther might say. Give it a read, especially "Screwtape Proposes a Toast."
