Alexa play Down Stairs DJ by Megan Thee Stallion. I enjoyed this read, it had me playing Monaleo on my way to work lol. I loved seeing a book uplift women who are explores, unapologetically. Your body is never a battleground for their approval. When Kross said, “I loved you wild” it made my heart smile. I’ve always said love me deeply but leave me wild. So to read a book where the man isn’t trying to contain, control or change her was refreshing.
Riv just needed to be seen, to heal and a safe place to lay it all down.
I smiled every time Kross poured and spoke life into Rivah. Because we were made to be wild, to be wanted, to be worshipped on our own terms ( I got that from the book lol). Body Count? Nah character development!! By the end of the book I needed Alexa to play, Monaleo Cosmic Love.

Thank you to Netra Antionette for the ARC Copy 🫶🏾

It’s not a body count—it absolutely is character development. Women shouldn’t be weaponized for experimenting or not settling for what they don’t like. This is a love story to every woman who wanted to be adventurous but didn’t for fear of being judged.

“Because your worth was never between your legs—it was always between your ears and behind your ribcage.” 🤏🏽🤏🏽

BABYYYYY, Ms. Netra knows how to use her pen & have you reflecting mid-story! 😮‍💨 After reading Sundays at the Salon, I knew I was in for an emotional ride and Rivah & Kross were exactly THAT! And the playlist?! Yall know I loveeee some KenTheMan

Wonen & our body counts are ALWAYSSSS the topic of discussion, so I loved that Rivah took the discussing into her own hands. Sis was rating those men with no cut cards and Im not mad at it 🤣

Body Count had me cackling, shedding a tear or two, and simultaneously saying “MHMMM!” when the spirit moved me. Netra’s stories always feel like that big cousin who gave the best hugs but would read you down in a second, and we all need that!

"That bounce. That volume. She was sunlight and storm wrapped in one."
"Because a woman who chooses herself is never out of line -- She's just out of reach for the ones who couldn't handle her."

Wow, this was such the perfect quick read. The author did a stellar job incorporating important themes surrounding women's empowerment. I really enjoyed this! Rivah is the supportive and engaging science teacher by day and undercover anonymous  spicy body count reviewer by night. I really enjoyed every second of this! Rivah's honest and blunt pov truly felt like such a safe space because she highlighted her past intimate experiences and trust with men, and how that further affected how she made certain decisions in the current time. Reading her pov felt like you are talking to your homegirl and her experiences felt relatable as well, especially the healing and grief aspect too.  I like the suspense surrounding Kross's character and how he was the person that not only matched Rivah's fiery and loud personality but provided the safe space to allow her to shed those thick barriers to her heart. Kross's dominant / sense of provider personality was the match to Rivah and I liked their bickering and banter because it was truly funny and very hot. I truly enjoyed this story and the cherry on top was definitely the mysterious murders and it's connection to the plot, that had me locked in!

This was a really fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed. It definitely gets tense, but still so fun the entire time.

rivah is a science teacher by day and body count writing blog by night. At a school meeting she meets a donor (kross)who she fucks, believes to conquer and write about him. He falls for her, and refuses to let up. Rivah tried to maintain boundaries, and fails miserably. He exs begin to show up dead, and her blog was leaked to the school by kross' ex. She realizes that her ex's who died where plotting to get revenge in her for shaming them in the blog. Kross' is the one killing them because he loves her. They maintain their relationship and rivah switches up the blog to include interviews.
