Finally finished this in paper book format. Audio is why it took so long to read - I don’t normally have a long commute so I listened on work travel and then kept thinking I’d finish listening... I did really like the audio, the voices were great and the narrator had such a sarcastic way of working, it really worked. The book is also good, but very crass and violent and over-the-top, and it makes you never want to go to a hospital again. I do feel like I learned a lot about random, gross, possibly not real medical stuff, too, as a bonus.
I can't really say that I liked this book. It was gruesome, WAY overly graphic, and extremely inappropriate. If it were a movie, it would probably be rated X. It was quite disgusting sometimes. The plot was interesting, but the ending was weird. I can't really describe it past what I've said, but I know that I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. Not overall a pleasant read.
It reminded me alot of Chuck Pahalniuk books, quirky characters, interesting medical facts (more on the darker side), and almost unbelievable and twisted scenes that make you want to squirm. It's the first thing I've read in a while that I would say if you like chuck...try this.
fantastic thriller, well-plotted, in a way that unwinds as each layer is peeled away.
filled with entertaining footnotes and interesting additional sources - looking forward to more from this author.

Fast paced action/comedy about a doctor under witness protection from the mob. I literally laughed out loud more than once while reading this book. Looking forward to more stuff from Josh Bazell.
