A fun space adventure! The pacing and sequence of events/flashbacks make the story somewhat predicable and occasionally redundant. Too often the main character is spending a lot of time learning what the reader already knows and the dramatic irony doesn’t really add to the story. But Rig is hilarious, and the rest of the cast of characters are full of personality and super lovable.

Be gay, do crime is the right description for this book. Some of the dialogue got quite cheesy, but it had a good action and was quite fun.

I picked this book up just looking for something fun and light, and in that sense, it ticked every box. However, I agree with some of the other reviews that say this reads more like ya/fanfic. The characters are lovely, the dialogue and relationships are cute, and no one got on my nerves, so I call that a win. But in terms of dimensionality, that was about it, though I found the most merit in Ginka’s character. The story was mildly predictable (why is it that whenever someone puts a snarky FMC in a novel, she ends up being a dumbass?) but still fun and interesting; the ending brought the rating down a bit for me but overall, still enjoyed this one.
