I wanted to like this more but I just didn't warm to it. Or more accurately, I didn't warm to the main character Rig. She is described as sassy but to me seemed more like a cocky, over-confident, rather tiresome teenager. I preferred Ginka and her story but that took second place to Rig's.

Listened to this book. The narrator was fine.
The book itself was, in my opinion, a poorly executed sci-fi about aliens in space. Every single character in this book was annoying, with the main character being the most annoying character of all. I wouldn't have minded if every single character died at the end.
Not only were the characters awful, but the plot was also poorly executed. Poorly written action scenes alternated with poorly written comedy bits.
I think this book would have benefited heavily from some editing. It could have easily been 100-200 pages shorter, and better for it. Instead, the author was allowed to meander aimlessly through the story, and allowed to keep characters that served absolutely no purpose.
Do not recommend.

I enjoyed the story overall. There were parts that were more engaging than others. I really enjoyed the mercenary pair’s relationship greatly.
Really fun space opera. Pacing was a bit off, but loved the characters, the world, and the story.
