That ending was (IMHO) perfect! I like the way Kemmerer wrapped things up while still allowing for any number of possibilities. I felt that the characters stayed consistent throughout the entire series while showing signs of growth in many aspects. This series as a whole is one of my new favorites and I believe I will be revisiting it in the future. Cannot wait to see what else Kemmerer has planned for the world built in this series!

Yikes.
In the beginning. I was very worried the plot was not complex enough to support 3 books (compared to Grishaverse, acotar worlds etc). And I was right!

I felt like the entire story was at a bit of an impasse- very tired of this circular argument around Rhen’s treatment of Grey and the subsequent fall out. Like, enough.

I am bored senseless of Rhen and Harper and I feel like Harper has become a completely flat character who is standing by her abuser. The reviews that say the characters are unrecognizable from book 1 (and 2) are 100% correct. I am tired of all of these characters and how uninteresting they have become.

At 41% through, still almost nothing happened to move the story forward, I would DNF but I want to complete the series. Over 50% of this book is constant repetitive recapping. What happened here???

Book Review ✨️❤️

Vow So Bold and Deadly
By Bridgid Kemmer

4.3 / 5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

Let me start by saying,

Thank you, Bridgid, for creating the beautiful world of Emberfal.

✨️I'm  a big fan of the first two books from this trilogy, but I have to be honest about the last book.

Even tho it's a good book to the story,

I was kinda disappointed by how the author ended the book. Don't get me wrong. Kemmers writing was fantastic. She truly knows how to take the reader in for an amazing journey of emotions, thrills, and unexpected turns!✨️

💗Absolutely would read more of her books 100% 💗

But I felt like it was cut too short, in my opinion. Two of the characters I liked got an ending that left me feeling confused and unsatisfied. But regardless of that, overall, it was a good book, just not my favorite, out of the 3 books in total.

A friend told me there's a book called " Forging Silver into Stars," which takes place in Emberfall !! Which makes me feel excited to revisit that magical world again!!

Definitely give It a try and tell me what you think!! ❤️❤️

This final installment in the cursebreakers trilogy brings all the characters from the past two books. In theory, this is exciting as my biggest disappointment with book two was missing the original characters from book one. However, I have to say, I literally didn’t care about anyone in this book.
Okay, that may have been a little harsh, but hear me out. While the plot was exciting and I enjoyed the commentary of ruling peacefully vs ruling by force (the weird, counter-sexism was weird though), the characters made their own problems. This is fine in the first book in a series, but if everyone just learned to communicate, many of the issues would have been solved in half the time.
Another major issue I had was Rhen. I liked him as a character in books 1 and 2. He was complicated and messy and so incredibly imperfect. It made him compelling. SPOLIERS AHEAD:

This book, however, tried to justify him whipping a child. As far as I recall, he never apologizes for this action. He simply says he had to. He had no choice. Essentially he says Grey “made” him do it. Like what?? To add insult to injury, Harper agrees with him??? She’s supposed to be the moral compass out of all the charters. She sometimes messes up, but her whole thing is trying to do the right thing and help those who need it. This was so uncharacteristic. And then, despite Grey not even wanting to rule Emberfall, he takes the throne in the end. He could have given it Rhen and went off with his girlfriend to rule with her and worked as allies, but he took it despite knowing Rhen wanted to rule AND FORGIVING him. Now, I don’t think Rhen SHOULD rule, but that’s beside the point. These characters just made nonsense.

I want mooooore - even tho I don't want any of these characters to suffer any more. So much to explore still!

What a disappointing end to what had been a great series.

While I thought it started off well, it quickly became boring and not a thing happened until the last 50 pages or so, at which point things ended so quickly and anti-climactically that I had to go back and re-read a bunch of pages to make sure I hadn't missed something. But nope.

Also, while Grey had been a great character in books 1 and 2, he became unrecognizable and bland in book 3. I had lost interest in Rhen's character in book 2 and never found it again here.

But what disappointed me most about this was the female characters. Harper came off as whiny, Lia Mara as meek. Lilith as a villain had zero intrigue. The male characters held what little there was here together.

Pretty bummed about how this ended.
